This was recently discussed on mika112's 2CV build thread. The guy to talk to about this is blackjack.

This would be one of the later, BMW-based FNs. Note the BMW 2-litre six, which was a hemi-head pushrod design despite the DOHC appearance. The intake ports were between the valve banks, hence the carbs over the head. The IFS is also classic early BMW, dating back to the backbone-chassis 3/20, which was developed from the Austin-based BMW/Dixi 3/15.

Thank you for that link it brought back a lot of memories. I remember doing a lot of prep work on Bugatti parts, have a clear picture in my head of the modified file used for striking, but don't think I ever did it. Maybe I've blocked that part of the task from my memory since 1984. I think my old boss Don Lefferts did this signature part of the rebuilds. He may have picked the method from Bunny Philips who is memtioned in the link. Totally different than the Leydon method. Pattern was laid out and a strip of hardwood was placed on the line and the file with a rounded edge was pushed to it, with a turning motion to make a coma shaped cut. The casting had been sanded smooth and buffed to a chrome like finish so those striking cuts stood out clearly. If you got to see a few original engines it was very clear that every one has a unique pattern, and the workman could be ID"d by the pattern. Bob :)

PBrown, Being 2/3 size, I assume it will no longer fit two people? Good looking car though. Is it based on anything?
