I think the Boy Scouts (or some other organization) will be selling firewood.

PA-Comet's right, firewood has always been available and we've had the Boy Scouts handle that.

Gary ....you on drugs? Carl's my buddy and I'm cheaper than him !!....$300 for 4 nights !!!

Heck of a nice place quiet Mennonite or Amish run I guess....have stayed there for years....I think it;s like $67 a night plus tax....but again it's 25 or so miles back toward PA so about 1/2 hour drive up Rt 68...couple rods in the lot so several others stay there.

Stayed there in years past...it's fine and never had problems with the cars to my knowledge
You are at least right in the thick of things in laVale....not far away from the Fairgrounds.
Just about anyplace around there is OK....check out Surplus City across the street and down a bit....lot's of offbeat hardware stuff (fasteners etc) cheap. found some Stainless Steel Dzus fasteners in there for $0.50 each....bought about 400 and sold them at swap meets for next few years !!!

Ya me too Gary....amazing how many rained on or rained out events I have had this year thus far. Lockport NY car show swap meet back in may (or june) was the first "cancelled" event I ever had. It rained so much they had to close the fairgrounds (and entire town) down to emergency traffic only...heard the FG was under 4-8" of water. They closed the entire town down for the weekend. At least the promoters told us that they would honor our space payment for next year. I lucked out and got a call from another vendor telling me not to come just as I was ready to pull out of the driveway at home to drive from Pittsburgh to Lockport NY (almost 180 miles) so lost nothing while some that were there lost travel and motel expenses. It's all up to mother nature when it comes to events like this....ya never know and only can hope for the best

Hope you enjoy the Roundup.Look for the HAMB banners at the fairgrounds
We have no connection to the cruises, they're independent of our show and have scheduled the same week as us.

Ya don't get me started on the cruises....maybe OK for the participants who want to go but it really cuts down on the number of spectators PAYING a lousy $5.00 to gain entry to the fairgrounds (whose entry fee goes to help the Crippled Children's fund).
From the "freeloaders" (cruise spectators) point of view why should they pay to get in when they can see the majority of cars for free at the cruises?
To make this thread "rant free" I'll shut up now....

You're absolutely right,Bob.The vendors/swap meet/food concessions also feel the pain
    of the loss of spectators.
Free is always good,it just isn't better?

Always something automotive and fun at the show.Nice people and great hot rods too!

What percentage of the cars at the Roundup "actually" go and participate in the cruises?

Dunno, never went to one to find out. But,we do know since they "piggybacked" onto our event our spectator gate $(which goes to The League) has dramatically dropped off.
Like Bob said,"why pay a few bucks to come out and walk around when you can ride a lawn chair and pay nothing?"
    Save money,live better-style thinking?

What movies are playing on the small screens,Bob?

2.Tulane Blacktop (college kids in a Dodge Polara squeal tires, mayhem ensues)

First time I went to ***berland a friend of mine ask if I went to frost berg cruise and I said no. He said Oh,you gotta go,BUT he is an 800 HP Pro-Street kinda guy--car is too new to get into roundup
He and I both like cars, but play in a different league

We have a burnout compe***ion and rod-jousting on a controlled and closed course at the fairgrounds.
Burnouts and street racing in a heavily-populated area of bystanding people just might not end well and reflect on all of us badly?

You ever rod joust Gary? Your roadster would do really well!
