im sick of hearing " nice rat rod" i nicley say "its a traditional hotrod, rat rods ar scabbed together junk" they usually walk away.

things like that cause anger problems!

YUP, I hear you. "RR" just turns my stomach. I guess some people just don't get it. If it isn't shiny it's a RR. AAAHHHHHH!

Don't sweat it. To some restorer types, anything that deviates from stock are RRods. Some like the car & don't know what to call it.

  13. ha, I like that, might have to make my own sticker like that for my company and I do my own printing so it would be something cool to have. But I really actually like that one. Anyway, I go through the same shit, but mine is a truck with patina. Some people just don't get it and will never get it. Its just the nature of art. This shit is like an art and science mixed into one and is a lifestyle. Ya know, I'd rather drive my truck or your car over some hotwheels rip off 60k high dollar billet, chrome drunk, cookie cutter, no nostalgic, took all the cool old features away streetrod that someone else built. But thats just me and you don't see me saying to those guys "hey got enough paint on there, or hey why'd you put that small block in a model, or hey nice rims that everyone runs, the list goes on. NO I don't open my mouth cause I don't care, and would not want to or even bring up the negativity to someone else's whip. Why cause its not about that, built em, drive em and keep the history alive. Patina, traditional rods, garage built whips etc all help keep the roots, age and history there. I like modern amenities mixed with old at times, I like paint, I like attention to detail, I like some "ratrods", I like patina, chops, no chops, stockers, customs, hotrods, dragsters you name it, I respect it and enjoy seeing it. Thats my opinion and your always gonna have someone else boasting theirs, but its a simple sticker like this that might just keep someones mouth shut and boy there have been many times where I wish people would keep it shut. All in all, the pros far outweigh the cons.

I decided since I have about an hour and half ride to the next get together, I better do a little tinkering to the model a... One thing I needed to fix was the windshield wouldn't flip out... So I dug into that this evening. Come to find out they replaced the header panel wood as did not put any of the bolts or screws back In it. I took the windshield slides apart and it came right off the car. Luckily in the hindge is great shape.. Ill have to go get some screws re attach it to the header and it should work fine . I need that factory a/c for the road trip! This also otta fix some of the rattles I've been hearing .

I also believer the u joint at the back of the trans is bad.. I'm getting the slightest vibration ... It may just be me being picky and over analyzing it... Comes from working at a ford garage and climbing into a brand new vehicle because someone herd a squeek five days prior and they want it found ..... Fun stuff!

Anyways I am looking forward to spin out on Saturday. ! Then Erie regional airport on Sunday! Oh also there is thirsty Thursdays/ guys garage night over at Sheridan industries on rt 193 in Ohio ... Headed there too. I will be racking the miles on again... Still with only one head light... I haven't stumbled on one yet. A guy is bringing one Thursday night so I hope it's correct.

A few pics from what I was doing..

Labor Day. Messing around at my parents place. This is where my great grandfather, my grandfather, my dad, and even myself have farmed. This old barn is on its way into the ground. It will be a sad day to see all those years of hard work finally gone. Sure makes a good background

The John deere is a tractor my grandfather drug out of the weeds many years ago and was built in the barn behind it. It was the first project me and my grandfather ever worked on together. He sold it a few years ago, and luckily my older brother was able to buy it back.. We are glad to have it around .
