Got a couple of real laps under my belt with a best of 8.85 @ 165.50

I know Jimmy ripped off a 7.52 in his digger but I can't remember the MPH.

    What did you guys run?

  6. 17.89 @ 77mph... That doesn't sound very fast but it is a 2 second improvement over last years time!

I've got to say, John that car is dialed. It goes down the strip so straight even leaving with a wheelie! Congrats.

  12. Holy **** that's a bunch of MPH! Was it spinning the tires?

I launched really soft. Just lifted the brake and rolled into the throttle in high gear, I didn't go to full throttle until a few seconds later. Lot's more left in this old girl. :)

I don't remember what car it was but I was at the starting line and saw the thing go ballistic into a Death Wobble, I was holding my breath hoping he could pull out of it, and it was at least 1/2 track or farther down.
He made it but I bet he went to the porta potty before he got his timeslip!

My best time of the day was a 12.39 @ 106 right off the street and I spent the rest of the day slowing my car down...
    Not what I expected.

Maybe but you looked good going down the 1/4 mile, did the gear change help?

it was a long time coming, but this enormous, awful-looking pig made it down the track. there were a couple of issues with the hand controls, it hit the vent window crank, which made it tough to stage and leave as hard as i'd have liked. the arm that goes down to the gas pedal hit my leg, and i don't think i got WOT. excuses aside, i ran a 16.17 at 81.39.

cub reporter joey ukrop made his first-ever p*** with a 16.07 at 88.22. i think this is a few adjustments away from a solid mid-fifteen second car that is absolutely bulletproof.

I think we have a new fastest HAMB Drags ET, don't we? That digger ran a 7.40 something?

I thought the times were pretty dang fast overall especially since Carl made a disclaimer about track conditions early in the day. Must not have been too bad. I'm inspired to build a 12 second car out of my Model A.

My last p*** of the day was my best; 12.36 @ 113 mph. Man was I excited about that! ..And grinning ear-to-ear. I had a 2.00 60-ft. time on that run. With slicks, I should easily be in the 11's. Next year!
