They seem to be more scarce than ever. Where are they all hiding? I've looked around on the web and have not found many. None at the local car shows.
Ahhh FNG... Try a traditional hot rod show. One where you need to go thru a quick "tec" inspection that is usually put on by a car club that is looking for traditional qualities of cars that are participating. Good luck Jay
I'm in the burbs of Chicago. I just don't see'em. My first memory, I swear, is my father's 32 five window coupe he kept in two sections in my grandmother's backyard. I wish he had of fixed it, kept it. Red was the color. Very influential on turning me into a car nut. At 50 years of age, the interest has never waned. I posted a picture of his 32 on here a long time ago. I will see if I can dredge it up.
There use to be a traditional show in your area called the Hunnert Car Pile Up. You would have loved it. Unfortunately it is no longer. However with that said there is another one in the fall in your area. The name of it escapes me. Maybe someone will chime in with the name of it. Jay
Go get em george Did you see my recent "fuck you" 50s built car? I call it a f.u. build, as it shows how street driven and sometimes Autorama cars were built in the Northeast....not the Y2K BS highboys that just never happened here in MY area. i swore i'd never name a car, but I like it.. it sounds nice, when aimed at the Y2K builder everyone thinks the average 32 was a highboy looking like the 40s, no matter what state or decade it was built. *********

Same thing here in North America. Fenderless highboys were thin on the ground in the fifties, channeled cars out-numbered them ten to one..
You know my feelings on the subject Frank, but you, Mike and I are just a couple of lonely voices lost in a wilderness of history revisionists...
I bet a lot of them were built into those "billet laden street rods" of the 80's &90's, that everyone hates.
