Thanks! I could not figure out any other way to easily pull it off, as the pedal pivot is part of the master cylinder. I suppose that I could have created an all-new assembly, but this took just a few hours.

It has been on the road for almost 3-years now, with no issues.

I hard-lined the reservoirs, with rubber, at the very ends. They are up in the engine compartment, jut below the hood line.

Thanks! It was not all that hard, too. It was a short-order, seat-of-my-pants fix.

I can't seem to find a picture of the toggle I made. I put a silicon bronze sleeve in the pedal pushrod hole, and another in the pushrod eyelet hole, and then made what looked like a little leaf-spring shackle to go between the two holes. That allowed the pushrod to move in a straight line, through the delrin in the original MC bore. Without it, the pushrod wanted to deflect as it moved, which would cause bind. Without the guide, and the toggle, the pushrod would push the new MC piston at an angle, during part of the pedal cycle. This would make for a short lived MC, especially so with one with a body made of aluminum.

The MC bore was 1", and worked well with the Scarebird disc setup, and the stock rear brakes.

Well Gimpy what you did can be applied to a lot of other cars. If you find a photo of the toggle I'd really like to see it.

I`d keep looking for a better example, that car looks pretty spent.
Unless your great at, and like rust restoration. good luck either way.

I will keep looking. I seem to be missing a good-sized, random chunk of photos. I have numerical sequence sets, missing numbers in sequence, from an archived backup drive I rarely touch. Not a good sign.:(

The 42-48(early 49) Plymouths are great cars, roomy, ride well, stop and steer nicely. Pretty easy to do engine swaps but the steering box can be a hindrance unless you don't mind a little engine offset.
Plenty of good parts availability as well making them a good entry level vehicle.
The 4 doors are the most commonly available, the convertibles and woodie wagons not so much. 2 Coupes, a 5 passenger and a 3 passenger are also very popular and fairly easy to find. The 2 door sedans are probably almost as rare as the convertibles but not the wagons.

I'll have to check but I believe I also have my stock trunk handle, and some of the other rear trim pieces that were shaved off mine.

Im assuming this is the whole trunk handle assy since it was in a bucket when I got the car. My 3rd brake light lens is in great shape. My tail light bezels are in pretty rough shape chrome wise but the glass is good and the little reflectors are faded but intact. I was thinking 50$ for the handle assembly 10$ for the 3rd brake light lens and 15$ for the tail light assemblies. If you want it all id say 70$ + shipping should be fair. I'd throw in shipping but I'm broke as hell...hence the selling of parts out of my personal stash!

Pics...note the spot where the handle housing has worn through the metal...its not rusty just looks like casting defect or just plain ole worn. I just noticed that while taking pics! They haven't been cleaned up what you see is what I got! But the handle chrome is actually pretty nice!
