Chassis Engineering Inc - shut down?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by swingcatt, Jan 8, 2013.

  1. Sid drops original Ford (or Chevy, etc) axles.

Chassis Engineering manufactures (or more correctly, contracts out the manufacture of) new forged, dropped axles.

Pretty sure that CE uses a supplier who also makes parts for John Deere. JD doesn't make axles for CE.

Tried searching and searching and...searching but I'm coming up with nothing. I called and talked to a tech guy there but he couldn't provide the info I need due to not knowing every single detail of every single car they deal with, which is understandable. The motor mounts on my '54 are side mounts and bolted directly to the frame. What im trying to do is leave the motor mounts alone and use the CE crossmember and mII kit. Will the crossmember fit with the motor mounts where they are?

You might be better off starting a new thread to ask that question... More people may see it that way, especially with a descriptive thread title.

I use to have the side mounts on my 54 chevy. I don't think that it will work with the mustang 2 crossmember. I think the mounts will be in the way of the crossmember. Chassis engineering makes mounts that are designed for the mustang 2 crossmember. They sit on the crossmember top hat. I am putting in a Kimbridge crossmember which is close in design and it uses the same mounts that fit on the crossmember.
