I'm sure I'll get a lot of hate mail for this but I think it's a tough decision that needs to be made.

Currently the cl***ified rule for parts is no more than 5 ads and bumped no closer than 3 days apart. To me the rules are clear. The warnings have been posted about the abuse and let's face it, the cl***ifieds get abused like a cheap set of tires. As I type this, there are users that have just bumped 7, 10 and 12 ads each respectively and I'm sure that Cobs job trying to police this is akin to herding cats.

So heres my suggestion to combat this; 1 ad per member and keep the 3 day rule. Want more ads? Become an Alliance Member and get 3 with the same 3 day rule. Abuse it and the ad gets the boot. Abuse it a second time and the member gets the boot. Done!

Many (but not all) of the offenders that I see have names to businesses or shops. I can relate to them wanting to shed some of the spare parts they have (I do the same but in a different venue) but in doing so, they crowd out the individual sap trying to unload a single part or two.

My suggestion for this; Create a section for these businesses to offer up their garage full of stuff and call it something like Garage Sale. We've got the O'dex for the business to offer up their services and retail goods but maybe we could use a space where the many shops that frequent the Hamb could offer up that crate of greasy trans yokes in the corner or all those take-off parts from the jobs they do without clogging up the cl***ifieds. It would give the bargain hunter yet another place to look for those parts they didn't know they needed.

    Just my $.02

I dont go to the ads too much, but when I do and there is someone obviously abusing the rules I hit the report ****on.

When I did this the first time i felt kinda weird like a little kid telling on someone. But the mods have stated many times they appreciate the help since there is no way they can keep up on all the ads that get placed and bumped etc etc.

Great comments and observations from both of you. Cob does a tremendous job, but way too many people are abusing the process.

    Updated last night.

Applies to repeat or large quan***y posters.

A newbie who just started may get a PM reminder.

Sorry it has to be but to keep as many HAMB'rs happy - have to.

Ryan didn't need to have a cl***ifieds section but was courteous to have one so we want to make sure it runs as smoothly as possible.

Thanks Cob! You do a great job here!!

I go there on a regular basis and while I'm not one to nit-pic or point the finger, it get's old seeing the abuse knowing that, like Cob said, Ryan didn't need to have a cl***ifieds. I like having them here and don't really want to see them vanish because a few guys don't think the rules apply them. I guess I should start hitting the report ****on too, that's what it's there for.
