Fred it isn't my first rodeo...lol like I said earlier I should have said LET'S SEE SOME COOL DARTS Hahahahahahaah. En the end I do what I want but I like to feel out people who have been down the road before...
I'd love to know what rear end and wheel tire combo that is on this! That's the look I'm shooting for!
Of course I took it to a local cruise last night and everybody said to just get a taller wider tire, and let them hang out side the 1/4's...... That would defiantly be a lot easier to do and cheaper....
With your guidance we can make it happen! I had it out last night, I gotta figure out somthing with the trans. I got the kickdown lever tied forward Now till I can get my lokar cable on, or I may go with a reverse manual valve body. What's your thoughts? Kick down or manual auto? I like the darts, I always liked those pushbutton transmissions. The Plymouth Valiant is a nice one too.Not many around..
I've got bits and pieces of the original push*****on left but it's been converted to floor shift with a B$M rat***** shifter.....
Anybody have a pro or con about manual valve body on a street car? Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Talking to Cody at Hurst, and then the boys at towel city. about tires today, need to get this nailed down! Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I've got a manual shift TH350 in my Austin, and love it. Wouldn't go back to a straight automatic again. This is the 2nd one I've owned and they work great on the street or strip. Which B&M shifter is in it? If it's a Megashifter I'd replace it. I hate the way they require a release to shift up and down, and they wont be good with a manual shift kit. I just put a B&M Pro Ratchet in my Austin, and it ratchets both up and down, so never need to touch the release until I want to go into reverse and park.
That's the one I have it ratchets both ways, it an older one but works good. Not sure of the model other than a B&M rachet shifter. It has a plastic housing around it I'm not to fond of but it works good Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Well I got good news and bad news today, good new is I found everybody I need to Get my rear cut down and reasonable prices, bad news now I need to decide if I want to cut the inner wheel wells out do fit a bigger tire, or do I just go with the biggest tire possible that will fit inside the wheel well. I don't plan on racing this car on a regular basis so other than looks that would be the only reason to wack the inners Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Don't tub it! Straight axle and tubs looks confused to me! Two different styles in the same car. Either fit as large as you can in what you have, or bite the bullet and radius those wheelwells. This is my B&M Pro Ratchet I just swapped into my Austin, after removing a B&M Megashifter. Didn't know they ever made one with a plastic base? Thought those only came on the other versions?
usually not a big fan of ratchet shifters....but I had one of these in my old 61 Biscayne....and worked slick. as for big tires...cant you move springs in and not touch the tub...seemed like the tub was fairly big after the spring moved out of the way...
Yep, what he said. Tubbed solid axle cars look very.... confused.... As far as quarters go, you can buy a whole rust free Dodge Fart like that any day of the week around here for $500-$750. They are NOT rare, even the two doors. It is your car, do what feels good to you! Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Hahaha!!! Auto-correct FAIL!!! I like 'em. I wouldn't want a gasser, I'd want a convertible, and a Valiant instead of a Dart. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Not saying tubbed I wouldn't do that! I meant just opening them Up to Get a touch bigger tire but I think I can for an 11" in there no problem the way it is. And I never said it was rare, but around here in the rust belt any car with out rust is rare! Lol the shifter like I said not sure about the model but works well Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B.
