Event Coverage New England Hot Rod Reunion (pics)

My son and I were there at 8AM, left about noon. Being Thursday good day to get some photos. Slow day in shine/show area due to it being a workday but wow lots of drag cars. More blown early hemi's than I have ever seen and they are still coming in. Weather iffy for tomorrow morning but then clearing and a super 60 degree sunny Saturday forecasted.

Thanks for the pictures and there is a ton of race cars there. Really nice to see so many different ,new to me cars that I have not seen before. You guys left just before the thunder showers came, rained like heck, then the sun came out, then another light shower. Racing terminated about 2:30. It was anounced that those who purchased a one day ticket today would be honored for tomorrows use. So I get in tommorow for free. By the way If you show your AAA card when purchasing a ticket you save a dollar.

It is a great show hope more spectators come out for the rest of the weekend.

 

Hey John. Thanks for the great pictures. Next best thing to being there. Too bad about the rain. If it looks like rain tomorrow, I may take the COE up instead of the 55 Chevy(slicks and rain don't mix well). Maybe bring the 55 on Saturday. Play it by ear I guess. See you there are some point, I'm sure.

 

Thank you for posting the pictures. I'm looking forward to heading up Saturday and the weather looks like it is going to be great. The weather looks good for the show at Rye on Sunday as well.

Is this the original "Blown Hell," from Northern California? Ron Rinauro (sp?) originally owned it, remember that it ran Fremont, think it cost Ron a part of his foot when either the motor or the trans exploded...great to see it again

Friday weather update, looks iffy this morning, still sprinkling and overcast. May get a break as the day goes on. Tomorrow, Saturday, looks spot on! Partly cloudy and 60s.

 

Watch out for this guy, Dick Gaylord (no joke). He's been ripping racers off for sometime now on parts deals. Don't give him you're money or parts. You will never see them again. Just a heads up. He was seen at the event there. He's the guy on the left in the white t-shirt

 

Friday pictures, weather somewhat better than yesterday. More blown early hemis in one place than I have ever seen, especially living on the east coast.

Finally on a personal note, a pic of two generation of hambers, Olcurmdgeon and Olskoollou with the third generation, Wyatt, standing by the fiat altered we built twenty years ago. We sold it when we went to the FED which also was there today (see last pic in set 4). Still flathead powered, the chassis is the same as is the front end (found at Thompson Speedway flea market many years ago) and the quickchange and body. Different color now, updated cage but basically still a fun car.

I'll be there tomorrow. We drove from Maine to Columbus, Ohio to attend a HRRR. (That was the one year it was in Columbus versus Bowling Green)
