Congrats on cracking the barrier!

My dad and I sure enjoyed seeing your dragster out at Yello Belly a few weeks ago. I got a picture and a video. Neither is very good but I hope you enjoy them. Your dragster put on quite a show. Thank you - and congratulations again!

Thanks for posting the video and picture....we were having "fuel vent" problems when you shot that one.....got it going a bit better later (6.5@111 in 1/8th)....and then added more boost for the 1/4 mile 9.88 run at Little River)....dang this is FUN:D

"Maybe".....hell.....YOU had better let me know when you are in Austin for any reason....WE need to "talk" Flatheads.....gee fricking whiz, you have built an awesome Flathead....you're "family", even if we haven't met yet:)....shoot fire, if it's good weather we might even take the Stearman up for a flight, that's a 1930's designed engine as well:D

Thanks for the invitation Skotz:) But it's a big difference on flying down 1320 than taking off with the Stearman:D! And YES we are inn a small exclusive Flathead family.
Last time I was in Austin. I was supposed to meet Casey, but we had too little time in the city. I'm sorry I was not able to meet him.
    RIP Casey.
I will for sure call you next time.

  11. I'd love to take off in that Stearman and fly down the 1320 in that flathead dragster as well. Skot rules!

    Jeremy,
The Stearman flight will be a little easier to pull off....I'm not quite ready to let anyone else drive the Dragster, yet(even though I put pedal mounts in it to accommodate "shorter" people.....really, my "original" intentions was to build up a FED to give certain other people the chance to drive one:cool:....then I started on this "how fast can I make one go sickness":D.....haha)

I hope someone has some photos of you pointing the wheels sky high, not just for us here on the HAMB, but would be a cool framed reminder.

    Congrats I love those flatheads

Update, pulled the torsion bars out(made from cut down vw bars) and both sides were twisted(go figure:rolleyes:) and one of them had 2 of the 4 bars ends broken off....dang, I guess "they" were right, wheelies "are" hard on cars:eek:....gonna cut some more down to fit the ends and put er back together....then look for a smaller pulley for the blower:D

    Smaller pulleys we like:)
Do you know how much pressure you have? I mounted a pressure guage with memory valve. Let's say I was a bit amazed:)

Hey Gary, ol Kjell is now "family:cool:"....Flathead Family.....he is "automatically nice"

    and Kjell,
I was just looking at the gauge and it is "tweeked" just a bit, but it looks like 15 pounds of boost with 37/37 pulleys.....I'm out there(playing hooky today) changing it over to a 35 on top:D.
I was in here looking for wheelie bar kits....has turned into a "necessity" now.....haha

Ummm, Mister Pork.....I "had" to put some bigger slicks on it, cause the ol cheater slicks were maxed out with 10 second runs and I built a new engine last year with "new" parts in this one(the ol 10 second engine only had "new rings and gaskets", "used" bearings:eek:)....I am a card carrying member of "Flathead Insanity R Us"...haha

...AND I have these "Punk wanna be Flathead racers" like Blasted:rolleyes:" ...that I have to make sure that I have to blow their doors smooth off(Hows that for smack talk?"...haha....uh oh, I hope he doesn't read this:rolleyes: cause I need him to tow me up to the line....hahaha) ....we ARE having fun down here in Texas:D

Day of the Drags coming up...Oct 5th....Best little Drag Racing in TEXAS...Be there!!!!.....whoo hooo

I just stumbled on this thread. Congrats on your 9 sec run. Great going. That thing sure sounds good in the video. The way an nasty motor should sound. Have you tried that intake manifold I sent ya yet?
