The dipstick on my flathead is at a lower angle than it should be. When then it's pushed all the way in you can hear the crank hitting it. Question is is the base of the dipstick the wrong one for the oil pan? The one in my Shoebox is not like that but its got a different oil pan. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
It looks too low. Is the pipe bent near the pan? I think it should be parallel with the block. I would have to go out and look but doesn't the tube thread into the bracket/thing on the oil pan? Neal
The tube doesn't look bent. It seems the base bracket is just at the wrong angle. Could the base be from a older flathead motor or something? I might just pull the tube and redrill the hole at the correct angle and weld the tube back in. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Maybe if you put a little curve in your dipstick you could avoid the confrontation between crankshaft and dipstick.
That would only work if it was a stroker motor LOL. Yea this threads going down hill quick. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
