The new ****oose & Snake movie opens this Friday 9/20 at the Harkins theatres at Arizona Mills. I think it would be a good idea to get a bunch of us Phoenix area hot rod goons together with our machines and go see the local opening of this movie this coming Friday night. There are showings at 4:30, 7:10, and 9:45. I reckon that we should go for the 9:45 show, that would give folks more time to get there and the traffic should be less crazy by then. I figure we could all drive our cars and plan to meet in the northwest corner of the mall parking lot (near the theatres) between 8:30 and 9:00, then go buy our tickets, get our popcorn and "Mike & Ikes", and see the show. What do ya'll think?
Sounds like fun! Hot Rod Rick has already put together a meet up time for Sunday morning at 8:30 at Five and Diner on 16th for a breakfast and cruise down to see a daytime showing. I would rather do an evening show myself so I could work during the day.
Our group is planning to attend on Saturday, probably in the late afternoon. On Friday night, I am pretty sure the parking lot will be crowded and not sure what kind of parking you may get for the old cars- or how concerned you may be in the theatre while watching it. Just a thought. Here is another thought- It would be cool for members to offer viewing a vintage drag or car movie at their home or shop sometime. I have some really great ones- "Funny Car Summer" "Drag Racer" "The Lively Set" and others, plus some great coverage of Beeline '65 Winters and Indy Nationals, Pomona and much more. I am way out in Maricopa and doubt people would want to travel that far but, if someone in town wants to host it, I would be interested. We could order pizza, etc. Could be a fun time.
Keith and I saw it tonight. What a great movie! Highly recommended. they did a great and accurate job and no Hollywood ****. Just a good time. I am going back again to support it.
Planning on going back to see it again tonight. There is a 7:10 show Really a great movie and lots of historical detail many will miss.
I'm holding out for the sunday morning deal. Saw a bit of it at a sneak preview and it wasn't as cheesy as I thought it would be. Can't wait to see the rest in a real theater.
