Tried it on an old pair of camel colored suede shoes and it darkened (ruined) them and left a milky haze. She was not a happy camper - believe me! I think it's uses may be limited but I have yet to experiment further with automotive applications....

But the video going around shows them treating a cell phone?! They dip the phone in water after coating it.

If you want some great stuff to spray on your work boots get can of Kiwi Camp Dry. I used to use that stuff on my boots when I drove tow truck and my feet always stayed dry. I have a pair of Vans that I sprayed with the stuff in 2004 and they still repel liquid like water off a ducks back.
