A few more to add. A couple are too new but should still bring back good memories? Hopefully I have not posted these already? Getting hard to remember what I have, and have not put up yet.

Yeah, this one might piss some people off but they will have to look past her at the cars. 1960 Oldsmobile and early MG?

Surprise, surprise, surprise!

20. I don't know anything about the picture of the 747 interior (?) But I do remember we lived in Lake City (Seattle suburb) at the time. When they rolled the 747 out for the first time my teacher stopped class and had someone bring a TV (they were on big stands back then stored in the AV room) in to our portable so we could watch ... it was a pretty big event back then.

21. I do not have a way to scan pics
I wish people would put the tampon in there mouth where it belongs
I have grate memories from these times
so what if a 60's gets in once and a while

The utility lines are coated in ice and sag toward the ground. On the right there is a sign in front of a building with a chimney. Wooden poles hold up wire fencing. A car drives along the road and trees cover the mountains. The season is winter. John Adams writes on 2013-08-15: Sign is small billboard for Blake Chevy now long gone. The property is now Ely Auction who owns the former premises at the Jct of 5&25 known on some maps Bradford 4 corners and others as Lower Plain which is what US 5 South of the Waits River Bridge to the Fairlee town is referred to as. The car is a 1968 Pontiac Lemans Convertible which would be very valuable today. John Adams writes on 2013-09-04: Just past the old brick house is Old Rte. 5 This photo is about a mile south of the Newbury Town line. The Classic car is heading south towards Bradford about 4 miles away

Victorian reg Fuel Tanker under a 747 - that makes this Tullamarine International Airport.
The suits and the quality of the photo suggests it's been staged as an advertising pic for Esso or Ford.
The rego number means it was registered around 1972 making this OT because of the date but still a good photo.
Thanks for posting SWI

Beg to differ on the rego date. I had a new HQ Holden reg on 23rd July 1971
with KYW 238, and they would have been hard pressed to use half an alphabet in a year back then, so best guess is 1970. Anyway, it is "out" by the date rules.:p No matter, as you say, a good pic.

regards,Rod:D

Re: 747's. I was stationed in the boneyard at Tucson,AZ when Boeing was using Tucson Int'l Airport to train flight crews. They would practice take-offs and landings all day long. This was 1969.

A walking automaton has been invented by Louis Philip Perew of Tonawanda, which eclipses, so far as known, any other similar invention ever made. Of heroic proportions this mechanical wonder is shaped in very way like a man. Not only can it walk but it's eyes roll, it's head turns and all it's joints move naturally.

Western Union Adds New Facsimile Transmission
QUEEN CITY IS FIRST TO GET NEW FACILITIES
Buffalo office of telegraph concern can send facsimile messages to New York

Buffalo has the distinction of being the first city to have facilities for facsimile telegraphy, the long awaited development of the telegraph industry. The Western Union Telegraph Company opened it'..

29. As mentioned earlier, car is a '70-2 Lemans or GTO ( picture not clear enough ), not a '68..

One relates to the other, If those p 38 and b17 pilots had not kept us free we would be driving 1947 vw's and toyotas. Those pinups remind us of one reason
we are free to have and enjoy our cars. It would be nice to see more cars and I see your point but they will come if the thread keeps going.
