  3. Time for another small update.Right now I´m in a pretty intence period but I try to get something done with the car as soon as I can so today I made the rest of the passenger rear wheelwell. Made this little piece to repair the edge of the inner vailance where it meets the wheelwell.

Here I got it welded in and painted with zinkprimer before I put on the outer plate.

Here I have the rear part for the wheelwell wich I made earlier tacked in place , hope I can weld it finished to morrow

  7. Thanks Kipp. The bodyline were the fender attache is repaird really bad and gaswelded so I´m out in the blue here and just guessing and even the corner on the fender looks like shit so I decided to do the bodyline first and come as close as I can to stock and then make the fender to fit that new body line.

Thanks. Still a lot of rost repair to do before I can start kustomizing and I´m just as impatient as you to get started with that

Kenneth, I want reiterate my comments I sent to Nate the other day, In short, You all are doing incredible work. It is our plight as restorers and customizers of these old cars that we many times have to undo/redo old repairs or even our own fixes. Unlike the rest of us your tail pan is still original and with your skills shouldn't need replacing. However because of the loss of structure that has occurred in the rockers between your "B" pillar and the rear axle kick-up, it appears from some of your earlier pictures that the body's weight has been borne by the very rearmost body bolts at the tailpan. It appears that the result is a minor kink has developed right where the vertical structure though the wheelwell is the least. So I think you are spot on to correct the bodyline along the fender opening before finishing off the wheelwell. It may even mean that the body just forward and over the wheelwell will need to be raised a few millimeters. It may be simpler but not ideal to effect a lowering by a few millimeters the very rear of the frame. With your skills and excellent eye for the details, I'll watch with interest your method and solution to this repair. Best Regards and good luck with all your endeavors. KB aka telekenfun

  9. Thanks for the kind words KB.It´s only the last rear 10 inches of the body line thats out of shape the rest is fine and the fender fits really good all the way except for that part. If it looks like there´s a kink higher up it must be the angle of the photo or a shadow. And my tailpan must be replaced. It´s paperthin about 5 inches up and so is the inner pan.I have a new patch for the tail pan but I gonna make the inner part my self.

  10. That is exactly what I did Kenneth. I don't think the last 8"or 10" of my fenders would line up to well on another car. But they do on mine so that's all that matters.

Mine too. The last 4" of my fenders look like they're going to fight me.

  14. Reached a milestone today. Not only got the rear wheel well welded up but now when the bottom is connected all the way from front to back I´d cut out the bracings that supported the body and now it holds it self up.A small step for mankind but a hughe step for me:D

  20. Started on the tailpan this weekend. Cut out the outer skin and found this shit. My plan was to make a new inner piece my self but it was pretty rotten so I decided to order a new one to save some time.

So today I started on this instead. It´s the a-pillar were the upper hinge is attached.Thought it would be an easy task.

Cut out the rotted part and found this underneath.SHIT.

Cut out a bigger part of the outer pillar to get acces to the inner post.
Made a new post to replace the bad one and here it´s tacked in and that´s all for today.Have to finish it another day hopefully to morrow.

Hey Kenneth, all that feathery rusty metal is looking mighty familiar.

  24. Outstanding work Kenneth! I continue to be impressed with your perseverance and skill. No car prettier than a '36 3 window done up nice and you are doing it right by ensuring a sound car before customizing. Great stuff!

  25. Thanks Paul. After what you did to your Zephyr I know there´s still some hope;)

Thanks Dave. .First renovate a car to original and then start cutting in it again . It´s crazy but as you said it´s the only way.

Got the driver side a-pillar done tonight and came one step closer.

  29. Havent you ran out of rust yet Kenneth? Looks like the tailpan will be tons of fun. Cant wait for the custom stuff.

  30. Nope.Seems it will never end.:). Still have the doors and decklid to fix. They are not very rotten but they looks like they were hit by a bulldozer and then there´s the fenders,OMG.
