I know 2 guys who have been there,....and it's the kind of thing where you can only go, if you are with someone that knows him well.

Well hes going to DIE and when that happens they will crush everything in site.Im sure he has worked hard and sacraficed alot. He thinks everything is worth a fortune ITS NOT!! Instead of being reasonable and passing some of those parts down, I consider him a selfish son of bitch!! I would want to be remembered as a MAN who contributed to the LOVE we all have for Cars and trucks and can be shared with the future of or friends and children, like we all have done. Have you ever said " MY DAD HAD ON JUST LIKE THAT" RESPECT HE wont have a dime to show for it, the STATE will bleed him dry CLASSIC HOARDER SYNDROME!!

  10. It doesn't matter what we think of him or what he decides to do with it. IT BELONGS TO HIM!!!! It's his to do whatever he wants. A crying shame but the truth. Whining won't fix it.

Nothing new. He's still alive, the yard is still there, and only people accompanied by someone he knows are allowed access.....(sometimes).

He's no different then the 100s,...probably 1000s,... of classic and antique car owners who have one sitting in their yard, outside,.....rotting away, saying, "I'm gonna restore it someday, it's not for sale",.......and they never do. :(

I do see your point, but without people like that the thrill of a "barn find" would be a thing of the distant past. There is something about great iron that has been hidden for 50 yrs coming available that gets my blood going.

I absolutely love the idea of finding one of those treasures hidden away for 50 years,...you're right,....it is a thrill,....but the key wording in your post is,.....barn find,...and hidden away,......when they are left to rot out in the elements, that's what pisses me off. It seems to be for bragging rights of the owner, so they can say, "I own one of those" or "I have an antique".

It keeps them connected to the car enthusiast's world, but it keeps those cars from every really being enjoyed by someone who would restore it, and drive or show it.

This is quite an old thread, but I am going up to Rhode Island this weekend to visit relatives and I was wondering if this place is still here and what to expect when I go here? I'm 16, most likely going to be with family, and I only really want to go here to take pictures of the cars in the woods as I am a car photographer. Do you know if this place is really safe or not? Because from what I've been reading, I really don't want my parents and my two brothers to end up dead for wanting to look at some cars.
