Hey everyone. Not new to hot rods. Just bought my 3rd model A this one is a 31 pickup. I picked her up in a guys back yard. He has owned it since 1961. It came from Syracuse ,New York. They supposedly drove from New York in 66 all the way to Seattle wa. And half way here the motor seized up on them and from that point was towed to there house and sat for 35 years inside and the last 10 outside under a tree. It's pretty good condition for a nice build frame is nice body is ohk and it came with a truck load of parts. 3 motors 2 trans and tons of body parts and grilles here is some pics ill post more as I go along. Well I would like a flat head ford nothing to fancy. Channel the body a couple inches. No CHOP at all. Cut the rear fenders about 2 inches out of the back to shorten them set of wider spoke wheels. Keep all the metal on the car(fenders hood grille visor). Weld a roof panel in. And leave the body the way it is. But fix a few rust spots. Oh and of corse lower it Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!

Larry my old 1930 pickup was a hard top,,heck it was a totally original piece before I blew it apart. HRP
Haha I'm from the great ol'kitsap county so across from Seattle. And oh ill keep update most will be week by week hah Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
The title I got from the owner which is only a partial. Says 31. Which I know doesn't mean in any way shape or form it is actually a 31. But I don't care to much. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Scott I may use some of the flat clear I have laying around to save the metal some what. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Small update. I just picked up my two motors from the guy I bought it from. One does roll over by hand other is a definite parts block. And tried turning the motor over in the truck. And lets say.... She is stuck. Going to spend some more time on it but don't want to waste a lot. Also pulled the carb off out of 5 carbs I have only one isn't frozen. So I order a rebuild kit and a new distributor and some other misc pieces to get started Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Here's just a few extra pics of the parts I got. Trying to find room in the garage for my A. Sad thing is I have a 60x48 pole building with one car in it and the rest is just parts and storage haha. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Nice Find. As stated the all metal top started in August 31, the wide box was I believe May of 31. So it would be a pre-May 31 pick-up. The frame serial number will tell the story.
Great looking truck. Sometimes the parts that come with are the real score! my opinion... fix the rust and paint it. A clean shiny hot rod will stand out amongst all the moss and patina.
Cool truck man. I've got a 31 solid top pickup. The channel and no chop is going to cost you some serious leg room. Have you sat in it yet? These cabs are tiny. I'm 5' 10" and if I raised the floor 4" I wouldn't be able to drive it. You'll also have to channel the box, they are shallow already. Not to mention what will happen to the fenders if you're going to run them. Now, on the flip side, my truck was chopped 5" in the 50's and I've got plenty of head room. Something to think about.
Yeah I want to be a little different than every other chop top A that's driving around I'd like it on the ground but still have the original look. My boss has a non chopped 30 and I'm a big guy I squeezed in but after I'm in Ill be fine I hope haha. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Alright well going over in my head of how I'm going to build my A. I think I'm going to go with a flat blue sort of like the color I posted. Also got a new welder today so should be starting some new work on it. Just got some of the stuff I ordered for the original motor. New plugs the wires new cap rotor some starter parts. More coming soon Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
And also garage rat I plan on removing the factory seats and supports to set the seat on the floor but planning a bench seat style. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Update it's back outside for a week or so till I can clean the garage up more just no space with storage in the shop. But I did manage to score a running 1949 216 Chevy with 3 on the tree. But still working on the original banger here's a pic of the new motor. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
