With the help of Mr. Chrismer and hopefully some others, yes sir. I'm looking forward to seeing the '34. Hemi is still the plan I hope.

Thanks Bill, I will. I am always up for advice.

  5. I'm getting pretty stoked about the numbers of guys that have e-mailed and PM'd about the Springfield event. I'm planning on making a trial run on Saturday, October 19, and am definitely open to having some additional guys to make the run with me. Planning on leaving Springfield around 8:30 and should be back around 1pm.

Give me a shout if you wanna tag along!

    Sounds fun!

  7. I have always wondered why the motor cycle guys get together and go on charity Rides and the car people show and at an empty field for the day. I would love to see more of this after all the fun is in the driving not the sitting. Good Luck and I hope this is a Great Success!!!

  8. Awesome! I hope y'all can make it.
That's exactly what we talked about when we met together to talk this idea through..

The end of July, my bro and I did a 4,552 mile 'mind clearing' trip...the report is here: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/...hlight=events+4552+miles+two+weeks+three+days

IF you can't (or don't) drive your car on short 100 mile hop , it's just a little bit of a metal sculpture...!!!

Bummer the OKC/North Texas drives are Fathers Day weekend, any chance of changing the date?

  11. We're set for this year, but we're going to evaluate after the event, and if we find the date is a big hinderance, we'll change it.. Our thought is that Dad's might want to spend their father's day doing something like this.

Just a question: Is it family stuff that is keeping you busy that weekend? Not trying to pry, just trying to learn as this is the first time out for us on an event like this.

Great idea... but I think stopping every 20 miles would drive me nuts. :)

  14. Just pretend like you're stopping to smell the roses:)

  15. Bret, I'll be at the St. Louis run for sure and maybe the on near you. Thanks for putting it together.

As I told alchemy I do a car show the weekend in between Back to the 50's and the Good Guys event here in Des Moines and I would consider tieing something in with that. Do you have any ideas ?

I know of a few '32 guys from the Petersburg IL area that would be interested in the St Louis run. Thanks for your efforts.

"Father's" day usually means he gets to celebrate it the way "Mother" wants him to.

    :(

Glad I'm not a "Father" (that I know of...)

Count me in for the StL run. Lots of great 2-lane roads in our area. Sounds like fun.

  23. Southern Colorado needs something like this too.

We drive down to Pueblo from the Denver area about once a month (200 mile round trip) just to meet up with a bunch of friends and have lunch or hang out. Did it last Saturday, stopped for breakfast in Springs and went on to Pueblo where we spent the day hanging around our buddy's shop where he is building a Bonneville car. Great day.
