    Mr Airhead,

I await news of your project! Did you decide what to do about the drive?
After viewing one of these hands-on, I figure moving the diff to one side would be the way to do it.

Yes friends, I said hands-on! I bought an early Bantam chassis, and picked it up yesterday. Quite a drive, it was in Pennsylvania. A title is said to be forthcoming...

I'm thinking of building a body of wood.

A Bantam chassis, that should be absolutely perfect :)

    Congrats on the chassis Hardhatz!

I settled on the middle gear from a Yamaha ATV. I still need to fab the mounting plates and isolators. It's been sitting in the garage mocked up since I got it and looks like it should do the trick nicely.

Lots of stuff like that on Ebay, and often so inexpensively that it's worth taking a chance just to get your hands on it.

Snowmobiles use some pretty neat chain driven boxes that I came across as well.

These two belong to Peter McGann who lives up the road from me. A couple of years ago he published a book, HEROES AND VIGLIONES, detailing the history of the little car.

Nine cylinder British Salmson but i'm not sure what model. It's my understanding that not many were built.

Bob, perhaps Joe can chime in and give us a history lesson.

Here's the story....The driver is Harry Martin. The engine is a Morgan Anzani designed by Hubert Hagens.
    85mm X 95mm
    4 valves per head
    twin spark plugs per head
    triple venturi Zenith carbie
In June of 1922 it was good for 70.58 mph in a 5 lap handicap race at Brooklands.

I love this picture. I'm sure that it has been posted here before but I think it deserves another round.

It is labeled as 1913 Morgan Racer in the historic section on the Morgan website. That is all I know and would love to know more.

I am currently designing and gathering parts to build a 3 wheeler based on this picture.

Yes, welcome to the HAMB. What does it say on the front, almost looks like Metz backwards? Awfully big exhaust pipes, I see the are made of flexible pipe.

Here is the link to the Hi-Res image(with a download button below the picture). It is about 45MB and well worth the download.

Definitely "Morgan" on the front. Looks like somewhere in the developing, scanning or upload the picture ended up reverse.

Wish I could see this from the perspective of everyone in the picture. I would love to know what the rear end looked like.
