    UkAde,

Something like 50 years ago I read a book called "design for competition" by the 750 motor club. It had a chapter or article about the wooden Marcos sports car. It said

"The simplicity of construction and the ease of producing strong joints without specialist skill or equipment, caused me to seek further information upon the application of glued wood techniques, and our technical library revealed a great deal of fascinating information in the form of data sheets issued by the manufacturers of Araldite, Messrs. Ciba (A.R.L.) Ltd., of Duxford, Cambridge. These Technical Note publications yielded information on glider construction and boat building, and then I came upon a copy dated March 1961 entitled "Glued Wood Sports Car."
This dealt with the original Marcos, and since anyone contemplating wooden car construction will want to learn from the design of these vehicles which have been winning races for over half a decade I will now examine them in detail, summarizing the information gathered from various sources."

Over the years I've looked for a copy of this article, first by snail mail and later by e mail. The manufacturer has been bought/sold/merged to the point that no one seems track history.

If you or anyone else could tell me where I might obtain a copy of "Glued Wood Sports Car." I would appreciate it.

    Stan

Welcome to the HAMB. Great photo!

I don't think this is the single seater driven by Mrs. Stewart at Arpajon as has been mentioned. I have seen a photo of her car and it differs from the three wheeler in the photo you posted.

One thing I noticed is the gentleman standing to the right facing the camera looks very much like the as yet to be Knighted Malcolm Campbell.

This guys name is something Wilson. My memory is pretty sharp but i'll have to have a look in the Boddy book for full details. All the Salmson's were great at Brooklands.

Herb was the one who first showed us this Amilcar C-6.Photographer Ashley Boarder took these images for the company doing the restoration....and ultimately the customer paying the bill.

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/55288722@N00/sets/72157636329270415/

This was a circa 1913 chater lea rolling chassis with a blackburne tomtit v twin aero engine of around 700 cc making it possibly the smallest aero engined special

Sadly I had to sell this car to finance the jappic recreation

Lilianne's baby looks like sporting an FN radiator (FN stands for Fabrique Nationale, a Belgian car and weapons manufacturer).
As far as I know, the Salmson is a project from Chris Draper, an english engineer who worked for Ford in Cologne (Germany) and a big Salmson enthusiast.
Ade's Chater Lea is up for sale as it seems:

and here aare 3 pictures of the Talbot Q10 works racer. This is based on a Talbot 8/18 chassis and running gear. There are 12 original Talbots 8/18 surviving, plus 3 in chassis form. I don't know much about the Q10, just found these 3 pictures, ... but I do have an almost running chassis of an 8/18! Anyone out there who is able to help with information?
