Bit of an update, sent the pedals to Ben from Rancho Deluxe for his modification to accept a rear mount master cylinder, he also provided the m/c mount and rebushed the pedals. Made up a cheap ass body dolly with trailer jockey wheels so its a one man operation to lift the body out of the way, room in the shed is at a premium!. Wheels have been sent away for powder coating and fitting of a couple of dirt trackers.

Well still going at it, running brake lines, fitting up fuel tank, needed a bit of instant gratification so mounted gauges, drilled and tapped some bungs and welded to back of dash, just wanted to keep it plain and simple. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1371557991.443986.jpg

Well work has been a little slow so it's allowed a bit more time in the shed while the kids are at school.
Rolling frame is almost done, it's of to Ben at Rancho Deluxe for one of his primo exhaust fit ups.
Here's some pics I took today, getting pretty excited. Thommo. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1376827050.873174.jpg

Couple of updates, got the roller back from Rancho deluxe last week where Ben fabed one of his primo exhaust systems and did a couple of other jobs.
Today a couple of club mates came over to help lift the body on for final mock up. To me this is what hot rodding is about, perfect spring day, buddies and talking shit, life doesn't get much better. Reefer, still waiting on the machine shop, but I have something else lined, a real killer.
The rear k member extensions are fabricated by Ben at Rancho deluxe here in Melbourne.

Picked up a cherry hood from fellow hamber "got a 32", thanks Dave, started to fit up, really need 4 arms for this job, should have all mounted and aligned in the next couple of days. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1381143291.277606.jpg

I was browsing the HAMB classifieds a couple of months ago and spotted this 59a, with my machinist taking an eternity on my merc block, well one thing led to another. I called up Bill, who at the time was a new member here but a long time member on ford barn, a deal was done and it's here now.
It's a race flathead with isky 404 radius lifter cam, all the right parts, may be a little overkill for street use, I'll run it as is for now and if need be a cam change to tone it down a little. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1382832471.817563.jpg

I hear the roadster variety of deuce fever is incurable. I've just started showing symptoms, but after seeing this build, full blown deuce fever doesn't sound so bad! Cool car!

I run a 404-A cam on the street and it doesnt sound nasty, but has a very wide powerband
Which makes it good for street use.
It makes very good power, too !

Just to make clear , the 404 only has 265 duration and i think only 36 degrees overlap
    So not very radical
The trick is that it has very steep ramps .this why it needs radius lifters

It gets very good gas mileage , too

    Going 120 km/h the engine need 12Liter per 100km

The potvin 3/8 has a much worse mileage, for example.

So if set up right, you will love the cam and it will last for a looong time

I have 10.000 km on my engine so far

Thanks for the heads up Micky, my concern was an increased rate of lifter/cam wear due to the steep lobe ramp, can't wait to drive the wheels of this thing.

Still plugging away when time allows, thought I'd have a go at doing some floor boards, not much of a carpenter but they'll do the job.
Couple more smaller jobs to do than brake it down for paint, daughters want it in pink with rainbows on the doors! ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1383994524.318137.jpg
