I am looking for pictures of austin devon a40 (4dr) chopped top. I found two pictures here on the forum a pea green and a black one. I had a 41 willys coupe and a 36 Willys four door, I like the old gasser look but I sold them a long time ago, Willys tin is really expensive now but a austin seems a bit more reasonable. . thanks
My buddy owns the Devon that's the last picture in Post#2, and it's for sale. 355 SBC, 6-71 blower, Powerglide, Dana 60. Very nice car built by a professional shop. The car is in Southern California, and it's turn-key. I can PM you his number if you're interested.
looking on how the four door looks chopped and how much to chop. I think the the dorset (2dr) is really hard to find but the devon (4dr) is easier to find. thanks
Not quite what you asked for but now i,m subscribed. I wonder what would be easier with an A 40 fourdoor, choping the top or converting to the rarer twodoor ?
This the one and only chopped devon I found. I would like the see some other angles of this car so I can get a better look.
Hi, there are some pictures of chopped Devons on another thread called Gasser Austins: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=622628&page=6 The images are on page 6 by violet springs, page 9 by 33Hemi and on page 10 by 1933t and englishhemi32. The latter is a Devon converted into a chopped Dorset with fibreglass doors, which is done by a friend of mine.
I would agree that converting an A40 to a 2 door (before the chop) would be a good idea. It would probably make the chop a lot simpler with fewer posts to do. That 4 dr. in post #7 sure is a great looking car though!
The reason I asked because there are a lot more devon's (4dr) made compared dorset's (2dr) thank you.
