Post 671 is the Bordinat Cobra and 672 is the Cougar II from Expo 67, not the Cobra II.

I couldn't get a good far off pic as the car had crowds around it the whole time.
Mt 1960 Eldorado Brougham looks kinda swoopy from above

I think it's actually a '39 Alfa 6C 2500 SS. It's a reconstruction of a Touring-bodied car that no longer exists, so it's currently one of a kind. Here's a very complete description of the car and its history:

The picture in Rick's original post is the most flattering view of the car.

The Lincoln in post 687 has a very European treatment of the side windows - this styling was popular in France - Delage -8 - and Great Britain. Apologies for the large photos borrowed from the web....:(

It certainly belongs in this thread. First mentioned in post #75.

I talked to the owner. It's a one off, he built the body himself.

  24. But there is just something about the 1928 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost Phantom Coupe with it's round doors trips my trigger. HRP

^ The round-door Rolls now belongs to the Petersen Museum, and is on display in the Vault. As I understand it, the car was originally a 1925 Phantom I with a tall touring car body; it was rebodied in 1934 by a Belgian coachbuilder named Jonquiere (sp?) for a subsequent owner. Functionally the car is nearly useless; for its colossal size the interior is terribly cramped, it steers like a truck and rides like a park bench, and the visibility from inside is nearly non-existent. But man, does it ever attract attention!

  26. You were real close on the coach builders name Henri Jonckheere & his son did the rebody. HRP

Thanks, I've only heard the name spoken and had never seen it in print. It was painted white during a period that it lived in Japan.

  28. Is that car made by Hobbits?

  29. While possibly not quite as swoopy as some, this 1948-1049 Triumph is significant as it is probably the last car produced with a rumble seat, or as the Brits called it, a dickie seat. Interesting windshield setup for the rumble seat as well.
