Features Kong heads ford flathead

Has any one seen a dual plug set of kong heads for a ford flathead?

 

this one was given as a prize at 2010 day of the drags in Australia.Flathead guru Mike Davidson donated the prize

I found a set not to long ago, only pair I have ever seen.

 

There was a set here in Perth on a Drag motor that was sold on to Melbourne some time ago.

 

Wonder what they are worth?

 

Pretty sure So Cal Speed Shop Sacramento has some.

Kong was a good friend of mine. I started hanging out in his shop when I was 12 years old. Even at that age, I knew there was some cool stuff going on. I didn't "get" the hot rod 4 bangers. I didn't get the flatheads. The history hanging on the walls didn't mean much to me then. It does now..

I have one Kong single plug head put away with Mr. Jacksons Craftsman timing light.

As for the o/p's question... Yes I have. One set sitting on a shelf.

 

Don Orosco is repoping them. Usually has a ad in Hemmings Motor News Race Car parts section.

 

Notch Gonzales has them on his truck here in San Jose if I recall correctly.

 

i saw some at hershey last year, i think they wanted 825 or 875 for them.

 

Two pluggers, or not - I'd be proud to have a set of Kong heads!

i have the period correct nash twin fire distributor for the twin plug heads.

 

hemi heads eat your heart out. cool looking for sure.. now the big question, did they help any?

I had one of the last original un-used sets that were heat treated and decked but had no holes drilled. the heads are solid alluminum above the cylinder for adding the dual plugs. it was my understanding that all kong heads could be drilled for dual plugs.
I sold my set for $3000.00

 

Sure, Iam late to the party... but I bring photos! Thick and heavy stuff.

Picked them up some years ago now.

 

Is there any interest in Kong V8-60 heads?

 

The single plug heads look pretty good.

 

Tman... that would be really neat.

The hi perf V860 crowd that could utilize a beefy KONG head is quite small, I just have to wonder if people would be willing to pay for a novelty item.
