Rich: Thanks for posting the pics of your 32. Pretty awesome little coupe, and I can see that you drove it on the salt too.

Missed this thread first time out there. I really love the picture quality ... did you say it was film, not digital? Sometimes in this mega pixel society we miss a truer essence of a picture.

Mark; As I left in a hurry for Bonneville, I scurried around my house looking for my digital camera with no luck. So I grabbed three old 35mm cameras that I had laying around with half exposed film in them. Well I knew that was not going to be enough, so while on the drive across country I tried to buy film. That was like asking for a needle for a record player. I bought pre-loaded cardboard cameras!! That is where these pictures came from. So much for high tech aye!! They did get the job done!

They look exceptional. Next year on my trip to Bonneville Im going to give those card board cameras a shot. The pictures have kind of a timeless quality to em. Thanks again.

It's hard to take a bad picture at Bonneville. But you sure took some good ones. I would never have thought those throw away cameras would have done that well.

The legendary "Bean Bandits" pit area. One of their entries is a rear wheel drive, chain driven, sidewinder rear engine flathead powered roadster.

And a front engine Hemi powered roadster

Also an early style Belly Tank Lakester

Bonneville is truly all about the roadsters, that is tradition.

E.J.Kowalski is a friend, he lives near Maple Grove Raceway, about 40 miles from Philadelphia. Ed and his dad nostalgia drag raced with us in Eastern States Timing ***ociation in the early eighties. When ESTA split up into MANDRA and NETO, Ed and his dad switched to Land Speed Racing. Ed Sr. has p***ed on and E.J. now carries on the tradition. E.J. took three entries to Bonneville this year. He has set records over the years with all three cars.

    E.J. Kowlaski's red V4F/GR Model A roadster powered by a 4 banger.

E.J.'s Lakester is also powered by a vintage model A four banger. He set the V4 vintage lakester record. That is Ed Jr. leaning over the cowl during tech inspection.

Here is E.J.Kowalski's third entry. A small block chevy powered Model A Roadster. The cl*** is "C" /AIGR This translates into a "C" engine size American Iron Gas Roadster. American made iron engine block and heads cast before 1973, run on gasoline.

E.J. Set the record with this roadster. I was glad to see it in the impound area.

Posting these pictures takes a lot of time and I am wondering if I should continue?

  23. Great pictures! Please continue! I like the fact they are on film, gives them an "old" look. I always take a 35mm loaded with me but never get around to using it, digital is just too convenient. Keep them coming.

How come it takes a lot of time? taking them must have been the hard part. How do you get film pictures posted? I know I like seeing them. I can't be the only one.

Rich, Taking them was the fun part, I wish I was still there instead of reminiscing on a computer!! When I got them developed I asked for prints and put on a disc. The sob's put them on 8 seperate disc instead of one!
First the disc has to get loaded on my pictures on my computer, then I have to load them on to my Photobucket alblum. When I am on the JJ/HAMB, I have to get off and go to photobucket and sign in and use a proceedure to transfer the image to the HAMB and then go back to JJ to paste it on the HAMB thread.
A lot of times I go to post and find out that I have been kicked off JJ/HAMB and I have to sign in again #@$%&* because I left the site. I even get kicked off when I don't leave the site. Why do I get "Timed out"???
This is time consuming and frustrating! I am not a computer wiz by any means and there are probably shortcuts that I am unaware of. Like everything else, I find a way to get it done and use it until I find a better way.

I dig the pictures. Keep them coming! (but figure out a better process before you kill someone)

  27. Yes, please keep posting!

When you log in here click the box that keeps you signed in, that should solve your timed out issue. I would load all the shots on to your photobucket account first. Then when you are on here open a second window for PB. This is how I do it. flip between pages and you can post a shot every few seconds or so.

I can see why you might want to call it quits. Whatever you decide, thanks for the pictures. they are great. After looking at a lot of the Bonneville picture posts it's interesting to see yours that confirms race cars were there a**** all the street rods.

Tman; Thanks for the help, I will try to follow your directions, anything that makes it easier will be great. "The box that keeps you signed in" is that the box that says "remember me" ?
