  6. You're probably right - it may be a construction access bridge at that. Makes sense. To my eyes, that truck looks like a circa 1938 GMC.

Reddy Kilowatt was a fixture here in the Twin Cities also.
In fact it was only a few years ago I learned the character was used by hundreds of electric companies across the country.

I think they should bring him back!

  18. Reddy was used EVERYWHERE!
I remember him touting the miracle of nuclear power in the 50's. We were supposed to have electricity too cheap to meter!

I'm not really sure if these are natural or enhanced, but we know that today, they would look like bowling balls and be about as hard.

Yes you are right but you are not looking at the big picture here. The Beatles were extremely popular. They were astronomical in the 60s and they ruled the charts. Singers like Dean and Frank were now old fashioned, passe. They weren't cool to the young crowd anymore.
So when Dean Martin had his hit "Everybody Loves Somebody", it was a really big deal, a shock , a surprise, which wouldn't have been if it had been the Beach Boys or the Hollies or some other Rock n Roller but instead it was Dean Martin, a singer popular with your parents or grandparents who knocked the Beatles off the Chart.

  24. Here's the flashy version.

I had forgotten what a wide range of music styles they used to play on that station.
