You know what the chrome glove box is for, right?

It's probably right at 4 inches clearance but with the wood, I'll definitely need the c notch put in. I was going to order one from welder series, just need to borrow a plasma cutter to make life easier.

Uhh, a nice place for stickers? I was thinking of painting it white to match the top.

I was going to get one from them as well, but no need for a plasma, just need a sawzall to cut out the frame section once the notch is welded in place.
I think I am going to set mine up with 6" clearance and once the bed is on I am hoping for 4" and no notch needed.

I put the running boards back on last night in the wee hours. I will need to drill the frame to move the mounts up higher before I get the front end on with bigger tires because they are really hanging low. Looks way better with them on!

What wheels and tires do you have in mind for your truck? Multiple ideas maybe? Lemme know and I'll do my best to whip up a Photoshop version or ten. Just pick a photo, side or angled perspective, shouldn't be an issue. Really digging your progress, wish I never had to sell mine.

Oahueli - I'm thinking chrome steelies or moon discs with either white walls (if I can find some at a reasonable price) or black walls. Not sure yet, I think it will ultimately come down to cost and the size of my tiny bank account.

Here are three versions, hope they help in your decision. Btw, i can add the shadow on the front wheel if you'd like.:D

Got an old ammo box with "Ford Aerospace, Newport Beach" script on it, which was a couple miles from my house.Found it an the Fairfax flea market in LA. Threw the first coat of polyurethane on it tonight. Hopefully over the next few days I'll get the bed wood installed and this will be my toolbox/car show seat/cooler! This is a great build. The truck looks good - great color combination and nice work. I'm scared of that front suspension - but I see that you plan to replace it.

    Keep up the good work!

After an old guy told me that I haven't looked at a chrome glove box door the same since! Did you make a decision on the tires yet? I kind of dig the chrome steelies and blackwalls myself. Your truck is looking damn good, I was planning on painting mine satin black but your shiny paint job has me rethinking my paint choice.....

Most likely chrome steelies but I'd like to get wide whites if I can afford them. Not sure if I will run baby moons with the wheels or not. Hopefully I will be able to afford the suspension and wheels/tires soon, along with the brake lines, steering joints, and driveshaft modifications for a 5 lug rear end. I'm going to have Deaver springs rebuild the stock rear leafs soon too. It's all just money, right?:D

I was going to ask if you are happy with the raptor liner you put on.
Can you post some pics with the oak boards and what the liner looks like with it. Keep up the good work.......

I'm happy with it for sure, as it is hard as hell. Right now it's still a little shiny but I haven't gotten much dirt and muck in it because the bed boards are not in yet so I will update as I abuse it to "test" it's real strength. i was thinking of changing the rear end first so I have lots of room to work without the oak installed, but like I said earlier, lack of funds are slowing me down. Perhaps since I have a few days off work this week for Thanksgiving, I'll make some good progress! :D

Haven't got much work done on the truck lately, been in Georgia for the last 3 1/2 weeks for work. I'm going to buy some goodies when I get back. Updates to come! This is Buford Georgia today... ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1392216094.867575.jpg

So in the last few months haven't done anything but work. Bought a house in Long Beach in April of this year, got engaged in December of last year, and getting married next Saturday. Managed to squeeze in some truck time. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1414307855.103407.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1414307880.551698.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1414307895.886710.jpg
Finally got the bed in!!! More pics of my garage which was inhabited by a rodder back in the 60's or 70's. House was built in '39. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1414308003.111717.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1414308033.035770.jpg
