If your was a fastback , I'd suggest '39 ford ,down low. My pal Dwight "The Pipe" built a chopped '51 and they blend nicely into the slope and contour of the 1/4s . Might be a picture on www.sundayslacker.com either Goldstroms show or So.Cal show , it was both places.

Def going back and forth between the 54 Lincoln and 55 Plymouth . My two favorites on the list so far. It'd be nice to get some photoshop going. I don't have it on my computer or laptop so.

X3. Check out badluckchop's chevy on here. He used the stock lights just moved them down a bit and sunk them in. Very subtle but bitchin!

If I wasn't going to use the stock lights, the Corvette lights would be my first choice.

Make some custom lenses that are cut into the vertical bumper guards.

I was kidding about the 51-52 Chevy lights. Altho I do think they look nice on a 51-52 Chevy. But many of the other ideas are also great.
    Especially these!
[IMG]Probably only see these around the North Pole on Christmas.

  14. Any more pics or info on this car? When was it built?

  15. I am using 1961 corvette lenses in my bumper guard on my 1950 coupe. Still need to come up with a bulb holder.

I have to say the '59 caddy lights but I'm partial to them.....When I bought the car it had '56 bel air lights and the '59 lights fit right in the frenched pockets, I know they are probably overdone but they look great in my opinion and everyone that knew my car locally before I bought it thought the caddy's are better? I agree:cool: P.S. is there a link to any more info on the car in post #14? I'd like to see more of it, I love these fleetlines.

I thought of another cool tail light idea. Does not have to use the lenses but the chrome fins could look great on the Chevy fenders.

My bad, here are some 54 Lincoln lights - not in a chevy - but you get the idea.

Mark me down as one of the people who isn't a fan of '59 Caddy lights in anything but a Cadillac. I don't like the late 30's and 40's lights put into 50's cars either, they look out of place for a truly period car.

My girlfriend's '51 has Buick side trim, and the chrome fins from the Styleline Deluxe match that trim, so she's keeping them, but I do have to admit the '55 Plymouth lights shown on the first page look really good on that car. As much as I love '54 Lincoln lenses, they're kinda bulky compared to the relatively narrow Chevy quarters.

Those Kaiser tail lights looks pretty cool!

  25. I'd stay away from '59 Cadillac and '56-58 Packard lenses. Those are all a dime-a-dozen on custom cars. If you go to a big show, half of the cars in attendance have those lenses. Go for something that hasn't already been used a million times, it will be worth it in the end.

You can also form your own taillight lenses over a wooden buck. You get sheet plastic from a plastic supply house and heat it in your oven to conform to the mold you have made. There have been several articles over the years about doing this, and the results can be amazing! Plus, you won't have the same lights as anyone else. That's what I'd do if it were me!

    How about '52 Studebaker...

...mounted right side up, or upside down, I think they'd look pretty cool moulded in or slightly frenched.
