LOL. I get it. (Only because I own one!)

These same lights were used on Dan Landon's Chevy, but turned the other way around.
I didn't bid on a set on E-BAY one time, and they went for $15! (Sometimes I can be so....!)

  2. The Studebaker would be a great choice for lots of custom cars.

  5. Your right! It they do!

  6. The first time I seen the first car on this thread I wondered what they would have looked like turned the other way. Immediately. Not one second went by to give it a second thought. And then there is the photo of the second car correctly answering my question. Look better this way than the first car had.

Sorry fellas. The 50 pontiacs are going on . The owner of this the amazing hot rod , Jose, hooked me up with these lights. He said merry Xmas last Friday . And handed these to me . Ive struggled to try building my car so I gift like this feels and goes along way in my eyes .

Both these will take some metal massaging, but this is how they would look best:

Not thinking of the Lee lenses the Shoebox tailights mounted lik Finrodder suggested were exactly what I was thinking. Clean, simple and easy to get and the buckets to french them are readily available if you don't want to build your own. And you can figure that more than one customizer with a 51/52 Chevy in the mid 50's either walked into the Ford garage's parts counter and picked up a pair or pulled them off a car in the wrecking yard and did his Chevy up.

I like the idea of vertical 560 shoebox frenched in with Lee's a lot an thought about that on my 50 Chevy. But I decided the body line of the 49-50 Chevy rear fender is too sexy to mess with and stayed stock. BUT that graceful curve disappeared in 51 and is more straight so this mod might look really good,

Yea I love the quarters on 49/50 but I bought the 51 since it was in way better shape than my 49 . That's why I decided to change them up

These are my favorite option. '54-'55 Packard Clipper with die cast housing and modified side spear.

Yes,yes...I know its not a 51-52' Chevy, but just wanted to show how shoebox Lee lenses look like frenched.Thats my 51' shoebox with 49-50' tail lights. The 51's are bit wider,so they could look better upright than those 49-50's.
    And without the windsplits...

I think many of the other posts are right in saying use the stock tail lights.

I think they really look cool just the way they are.

    Love the 51's Jimbo

Started on my tails today. Decided not to use the chrome surround, to big and bulky.
