Crazy Grandpa's is one of my favorites. GM only sold 65 in this color. Have your brother leave the car with me for a few weeks, and I'll fix it right up....
"DIAMOND in the ROUGH"....Can't wait to see "the Baron Touch"....internally and externally !! Also...."can't wait for a ride" in your "GEM" !! Keep up your meticulous... "GREAT WORK" !!
note to Baron, give old guy from NH a ride when it is done? I had a 340 hp '62, a 425 hp '65 coupe and a 340 hp '66 roadster. Always had a soft spot for early corvettes. It is just plain wicked looking!
Thanks Scott. Stop by the shop when you get a chance. Hi John. Sure thing my friend. I have a number of friends who refuse to get in my car(s)to go for a ride with me.
lookin good B ... one day i will get mine down hopefully been foolin a little with the olds this summer
grow up? No sir, he is one of us "seasoned" guys who may grow old chronologically but will always be a kid at heart, especially regarding hot rods. Hell I am no different mentally than seventh grade study hall with an Honest Charley catalog inside my text book. And Lord willing, it will be that way until the end.
No growing up here. No time for that. Spent the last two days adjusting the doors and fiberglass/bondo work setting all the gaps ,adding where needed and grinding away where tight. Nice thing about working with glass is you don't have to weld the edges of the doors after grinding. Bad thing about working with glass is the dust and itchy as a son-of-a-gun. This is probably the least fun part of the build and it will be nice to put this behind me.
Wonder what I could do with mine?? Mom bought in 1960 - has 42k miles on it now... Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I don't care for the numbers-matching frenzy, but that car appears to be a solid candidate for NCRS survivor series. I would not change a thing.
Just changing wheels and tires would give it a different look without major work. Maybe a pair of glasspacks to make it sound better too. Depends on how far you want to take the car.
Thanks guys for talking me into this. I have decided to go this route instead of the injection for a couple of reasons. Ill buy a couple of Holleys and this will be good to go. Picking up a Vertex mag from a friend this week-end. Still getting the body ready for primer.
Baron, Looks like your making good progress. My 57 is at the body shop, almost done with block sanding. Picked up a set of SW Wings gauges and some other stuff. Keep on truckin.
I really dig that tunnel ram, that big ol plenum is what it's about in the looking old department ! Let the trumpets sound and move forward to Badassville
