Sorry couldn't get the picture to upload in the first post. If anyone is wondering, it's a 40 Chevy 2dr sedan, master 85, top chopped 3-4 inches (back to front) sectioned lengthwise 9 inches, fenders widened 1 1/2 each side, channeled 3 inches, suicide doors. Still have to finish the front clip mods tho. Much more to come.
And that lovely artwork was because someone decided to attack my door while it was behind a friend's shop...

Having trouble with the app loading pictures. This is close to the color I'm looking for.

These cars have some pretty cool lines from the start; all I did was remove the bird and grill bar, blend the headlight buckets with the fenders, lower it and change the wheels. Couldn't come up with anything for the rear lights, hopefully someone else can give it a go.

Thank You Ruben, I appreciate your time.
Any chance you could do some chrome reverse in the rear, with something like a Halibrand kidney bean up front?

    Thanks,
    Tom

  13. I like that! Here's what I did with the tail: '57 Packard Clipper wagon taillights and rear tailgate trim, removed the overly large gas filler and added some chrome trim (or Packard body lines) down the side, and thought the pipes would look better on the outer ends of the bumper.

You nailed it! Those taillights are perfect for this car. I knew I was missing something.

  17. I think tbird style exhaust through the bumper would put it together.

Nitrobrother...that looks good, thanks so much. What I mean is, if you look at a dead on side shot of the '54 (110, 210 or bel air) the roof follows the drip rail for the entire length of the top but then when you get to the rear corner the top keeps going horizontally and then drops off to the decklid. I want to get rid of some of the horizontal rear portion of the roof so the top follows the rear curve of the driprail but still ends at the decklid in the factory location (I'm not sure if I'm describing this right but I can picture it in my head sort of). I'm sure I'll have to use an older model rear window

StefanS, I understand the vision in your head (quite unlike verde742). May I offer a possible solution? In addition to an older, smaller backlite think about using a (longer) coupe decklid. Doing so would move partial tray inward and enable shortening roof above drip rail by a few inches, allowing curve to echo drip rail more closely.

Not sure if this one is possible, but can someone chop off the back of the cab and make this into a roadster pickup?

I so desperately want to build this car some day. What would be the ideal car to start with to try to build a Tucker out of?

  27. That's cool (and kudos to HotRodNisse for the initial concept). There are so many weird angles on that car that the curved bits look misplaced. What about a taildragger version?

  28. Still not sure I'm grasping what you want, but something like this?

(If not then I'm done anyway! :D )

Talk to Rob Ida. He builds them on a custom chassis with a fiberglass body and twin turboed Porsche engine!
