  1. Finaly the passenger door is done.Got it installed today.

Got the wheels back on and sat it down on the floor. Gonna start bracing the body again for the chop.

The roof has been filled some time in the past and is pretty nicely done and the insert chanel is still intact under the roof.First I was gonna cut out the filling panel and reinstall the insert but the more I´ve been thinking about it I think I will go for a filled roof again.I believe that in the 40´s and 50´s they would have done that to get a more modern and luxury look.

Those doors have turned out really well Kenneth. The whole coupe is looking really straight and solid now.
Guess it's nearly time for the real fun to begin..............The custom work.

    Paul.

  10. Any day now Paul. The cut lines for the chop is scribed. Some small details left then I will start cutting.:D

  11. Ok here we go.Cut the roof off today.First cut was on the doors.

Then I cut the roof. Took out 3 3/4" from the b-post and put the lid back on. First I planed to take 4" but I think I start with this and see how it looks.Gonna split the roof and take out 3" from a-pillars.Then I will roll it outside to get some distance to look from.In my little space in the garage I can´t see shit.

Didn´t section out the rear window like many others do.I like them small just as the ones on carson tops.

  12. Looks good. Are you going to move the rear window up into the top with it being that small to get it more centered top to bottom?

  15. Bitchen! Now the fun begins. Go Kenneth Go.

  16. That´s an interesting thought I sure will consider. Will see how it looks when it comes outside. When looking at it now maybe I will widen the window slightly. This is the look I´m after.

  18. I hated to see you chop this beautiful car but being able to see your craftmanship in doing it makes it a little more bearable. Nice work.

  19. Thanks Nate

A full kustom needs to be chopped;) Thanks for the kind words

Split the roof today and cut 3 1/8" off of the a-pillars.Put it back and I think I´m pretty close. The darkness comes too early these days so I will have to wait for the weekend to get it outside for a peek in daylight.

  20. It may have been the angle of your picture because this on doesn't look as disproportionately low as the pic you posted of your car.

  21. I think so too.It doesn´t look that disproportional in reality.

  22. Started to line up the back off the roof. When the b-post was lined up the corner off the roof was to small.

After some pushing and tweaking from inside to make it fit and see where to cut a reliefe I desided to cut it along the door post and move the whole roof backwards.

Then there was the beltline that was missaligned.

Cut out a bit off the beltline
    [IMG]

Moved the cutout beltlinepiece forward to line up and tacked it in.

Kenneth, You are an amazingly talented guy! Thank you so much for the detailed, clear photos and timely updates. I don't know how you find time to do the work and do the posting like you do, but I am learning a lot just by following your progress.

Great work Kenneth, love to see how you are thinking out every move and cut.
Can almost hear the cogs turning in your head from here :).
The beltline is looking good and the strength in it will help the roof keep shape loads when you start to weld it up,.

    Paul.
