I think that thing looks RAD with the Halibrands all the way around! Also, I think the turtledeck and track nose would be sweet, too! After getting somewhat close on my bucket, I really want to do a track roadster next haha. Must.....Focus.....

Not really a "project", but my beater-driver for the last twenty years, avatar, 250,000 mile race car/hot rod that getting put back together after it's third "fatal" accident. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas after "endlessearth's truck is out, I will get back on it and get all the front sheet metal fitted and back on the road. Donuts and feats of mass acceleration will soon follow...

Back to that scoop situation. Louvers, this drawing is from the Trosley thread. Note the scoop on the coupe and how it's on a four barrel carb AND instead of one opening, there are two. THAT would be a cool scoop. You'd probably have to make it, but wouldn't that be a cool tech article?

I've had that kind of car.

They're like Steven Segal before he got all bloated and doughy, Hard to Kill. ;)

Ya, the first one was the best though, I mean really, who else has been hit by 7-8 illegal alien 12-14 year olds in a stolen Yugo?:D

Yes, that will be hard to top.

Why would you steal a Yugo in the first place?

How do you punish someone for a crime like that?

I mean, after having been seen driving that Yugo around, prison is going to seem like a trip to Maui.

How do you know if a Yugo even hits ya? dose it even make a dent in anything but it's own body. I had a buddy that owned a Yugo,he droped it off at my place, asked me to put a trailer hitch on,I bolted it to his front bumper:D,when he came to pick it up,he didn't think it was as funny as I did:eek: After all having a trailer hitch on a Yugo is a bit of a jock too, right? ya I did fix it for him,but :p:) was all free-B anyway.

True. Car names are traditional after all.

So after you get it painted, you need to do a small Roth-esque cartoon monster figure, maybe in the lower corner of the tailgate. I can see him sitting sort of folded up in an old wooden bucket with his knees up around his head, and a long shifter handle sticking up somewhere... (just for old-times' sake!!)

Even though the turtle deck and track nose thing doesn't sound half bad.... FOCUS!
Stay on track and get those Americans back on there! :)

Oh trust me, the focus is there! The Halibrands are TEMPORARY! They have a higher calling on my roadster pickup to achieve. Thing is though, being self employed, and coming off of a hellacious summer of nothing but shelling money out with nothing coming in, I have to get a little creative until I can afford the good stuff again, like a pair of new Hurst slicks for the Americans... Soon, the original plan will be back. Talk about getting attention out at Good Guy's this weekend though... Just throw some insanely rare wheels on a car and you're the bell of the ball!

I like your idea for a Roth-esqu monster! I had said early on in this thread that was the idea from the get go. My thoughts were more to a monster holding a bucket of armpits and assholes.... As in "as ugly as a bucket of arm pits and assholes", a common detraction that my little group has used for many a year. I like Dana Barlow's below as well!

Well guys, I had to share a momentous occasion with you all tonight... My fifth anniversary of life on the H.A.M.B., and with the touch of the post button, my 10,000 post!

Five years ago tonight I posted on here the very first time in the wake of the craziest Good Guy's weekend ANYBODY could imagine. If you want to laugh hysterically for an hour or two, dig up Scottsdale '08 in the archives and watch the entire Phoenix H.A.M.B. community pile on me for about two days... There was even photoshops of Miss Judy as Liberace's chauffer... There is a DVD out there somewhere that had a segment shot at ElPolacko's shop party that year with Enfo, Hot Rod Ron, myself and several others doing burnouts in front of the shop that caused the whole neighborhood to smell like burning rubber for three days after. Oh, and Kirk making and filming UFOs... It was one hell of a start, and it has been a ball ever since!

Thank you guys for allowing me to say "Ya, I have a buddy up in B.C." Or, "One of my friends on the H.A.M.B. in Dallas/Ft. Worth..." It's been a ball gang!

Nah, I was there all three days! Sunday was particularly fun 'cause I just randomly handed the keys to the 'Bucket to friends and acquaintances. Sorry I didn't run into you.

Guys if you want one of those "Dragster" scoops for your car google gasserglass he makes exactly what your looking for in several different styles like the 2 oval openings or the ful;l front open ,single 4 barrel or dual and I thing multiple deuces. he was putting out some very good videos on how to work with glass but he's pissed about how Utube is dealing with him so by months end he's going to take them all down !

Craig let me drive the Liberace....driving the car(?), piece of cake. Driving next to a wind up gorilla(?), a little nerve wracking....
