Damn, I must never pay attention on here. I never knew you had that car... that thing is tough as hell.
I've seen these twice, probably the same guy built them, it's a minature sprint car tail tank nerffing bumper that bolts to the gear cover of a quick change rear end. The guy offered to build one for me a few years back but I didn't have a quick change yet. I do now and I sure wish I had his number. I think he was from Indiana, met him and the neat nerf at the NSRA Nats.
A nerf is synonomus with bump. Nerffing bars were put on sprint cars by car owners to ward off the tires of competitors from their tires and hand formed aluminum bodys before cages and throw away race cars. The term is has been shortened to nerfs now-a-days.
I made these in a rush, and they are too small, if you want them, PM me, I have since got some from a HAMBer that are better proportioned.
Here is the one I fabricated, then ran all the wires internally. More pictures posted under my thread...
Now those are original. I wonder if Ralph Nader would have approved of them? LOL Here's mine, a tow hitch! lol
Thanks, I'll take that as a solid maybe. Can't say my friends are crazy about them either. Not much good in a crash but should do for a '5mph' bumper.
