    Thanks!
I have to say that the rotisserie is not completely my own design.I found blueprints from garagejournal:

    http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=50630

I made mine 80" wide instead of 60",made own axles with lathe, because i couldnt find any decent pipes for that purpose. The brake with spring loaded tap is also my own design.I had to wait over a week to get the hydraulic jacks,so it took over 2 weeks to build it because of that delay. But if you have everything around that you need,it wont take that long. Those jacks are good to have and they arent really pricey.I guess its something like 50 bucks piece on that side of the pond.
    Good luck with the build!

    Here is an update:

I usually work by myself with the projects, but some things are just too much for a one guy.
I met friends of mine yesterday and asked them to help me with the body lifting at today.
4 of them were willing to help me.I am really happy to have friends like that who are able to help on such a short notice. Thanks a lot guys!

This is a kind of historical moment, this body has never been off the frame.
I am pretty sure of that because most of the original bolts were really rusty.
I made a bracing for the body:

Is it necessary, dont know. But like ausbuick said:It's better to be safe than sorry

First we opened all the body mounting bolts, only 2 of them broke at this time...

We lifted the body with two engine hoists that i borrowed from my bros, thanks for that guys!

The frame is rolled away,so we put the body on 2x4's.More to come...

The frame is actually pretty good, comparing how bad the body was:

We pulled the motor and tranny off the frame too,but no pics of that..

Then we mounted the body on the rotisserie...

Son of a bitch.....It works too!

    And back to the garage...

And now i can finish the body easily before the sandblasting, there are few spots that will need some attention.
Only thing that pisses me off with rotisserie is that i didnt make it earlier:)

  4. I'm sure this is going to make the build a lot smoother.
    How's the balance?

    Glad to see your progress.

I think that the balance is fine,Kevin.I can easily turn the body and if i take my hands off,it wont collapse.I guess it was a lucky shot to get it balanced that good without any special adjusting.

  6. Man it makes me want to get on building mine but I am not quite there on the body yet as I want the floors to be completely done and tied in . Maybe by the spring it will be on a rotisserie ! Should be !! Maybe ??? We'll see ! Stay after it Antti , Andy.

Thanks Andy.I think its easier to fabricate new floorpans, braces etc.and put the body on the rotisserie after that...If you are fabricating completely new floors.
Doing it in that order,i am sure that body mounting etc will fit better, when you are putting the body on the frame again

Thanks, but my friends made it look simple. It was not just me.Its good have some extra hands in jobs like that.
Well,my bro lifted the body off the frame from his 69' Bel Air by himself.Thank god i am not that crazy:D

    Thanks man!

  10. Right on. It is sooo nice to be able to work on the underside without laying on your back, faster too.

Yeah,it will be a lot easier to work and the sandblasting wont be a problem neither in this position. And it makes easier to notice spots that needs work too.
I was sure that the rust issues were over, but i found couple of spots that need fixing:rolleyes:
And thanks for the offer Jarno...I still need to hire a painter at some point;)

It sure does make things easier,no more crawling under the car:D

Sorry Eric,i havent make anything thats worth to post.I've been at work,so couple of weekends has been wasted by that way.I usually dont like to work at weekends, but the weekends salary is pretty good, when working on both days in my company.
This floor finishing job isnt the most exciting part to do.And i dont want that people get bored to death while reading this thread. So i have to think whats worth to post.
Well,i am not going anywhere at next weekend,so maybe i'll got something done after that..

I guess this is worth to post, nothing really special but its a something anyway.
When we lifted te body off the frame, the passengers side body mounting leg was so rotten that it fall apart from the bottom. The brace needed some attention too.
    I got those issues fixed:

I also cleaned up the welding seams from the firewall

Few weeks ago we had an auction at my work and it was for staff only,so i had a chance to get something useful from there.I scored this:

Its Strands gear driven drill press from 60's or 70's,made in Sweden and weights over 100kgs(220lbs).It was kind of tricky to lift it to the table by myself, but i didnt break my back or anything else during that job.
I am sure that it will make things easier with this project.I also scored a watercooler unit for my tig,i paid around 20 bucks of that.
I guess it was a steal, because people are asking 600-700 bucks of them:D

Yeah,i am happy of the drill deal.It sounds like a cliche, when people say that they dont make them like they used to,but its true.
I bought a made in china crap drill few yrs ago.It bends, when you are trying to drill a hole with it.Its really good tool,if you want to drill oval holes...
I try to get something done before next weekend.I am going to swapmeet in Stockholm, that trip will take the whole weekend. So no quality time in the garage at then.
Well,i hope i'll find something useful from there too.

  21. Cool drill press, nice score.

Can't help but wonder what a swap meet in Stockholm would be like.

Well,it isnt really huge event like some swapmeets are on the other side of pond.
I've been there few times before and its always been worth to go.
Its held in the parking garage in the middle of Stockholm.Swedes have long history with their hot rodding scene,so they have pretty cool parts for sale.Too bad that there wasnt much kustom stuff for sale at last time i was there, but the tables were full of eye candy anyway.

  23. Did you get any pic's of the eye candy?.
That drill press looks like pretty high quality, nice score.

Well,i didnt score anything from the swapmeet. There was a lot of cool hot rod and bike parts for sale, but not much kustom stuff.Too bad that i dont need bike or hot rod parts at the moment. It was worth to go anyway.

    Here is an update:

I noticed this spot earlier, but i couldnt work with it,because the steering column was on the way.It was a bit worse than i remember. There is a lot of pitting and even few small holes on the factory bead.I guess theres not much left of it after sandblasting,if i leave it like that. Its a lot better looking on the pic than it was.

    I made a template:

Then transfered the pattern to the patch:

The patch is done,my beadroller dies came handy again:

    Some tackwelding...

    And its done:
