Need help to Id these bucket seats

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 62pan, Nov 22, 2013.

  1. This pair of seats came with my Model A project. I am not going to use them but before I put them up for sale I would like to know what they came in. I tried several serches and come up with nothing so I thought I would try here. There is no place for a head rest so I believe they are early 60's. Thanks for any help. Ken

Ken....they look GM...if they indeed dont have headrests they might be 1966-68 era..if there isnt a button to release the seatback they are 1966. What are the bottom skirts made out of? What does the back look like...you might be the luckiest guy on this board today....

The more I look at them...the more they look like 1959-61 GM buckets....if so...they are BIG bucks....

look like mid 60's T-bird seats, as mentioned before, although mine had plastic skirting. could they be early 60's t-bird or ford Full size?

  10. I am guessing mid 60s Mercury.

    x 2 Mercs,,, my vote...

  12. They're probably out of a Ford product, they look more like the T-bird and Merc set I've had here. If the lower back is hard, plastic or metal, that would be Ford.

  13. The mid 60's T bird seats usually have a chrome section on the back in the center. I don't believe that is what these are. I google mid 60's mercury and didn't see anything similar either.

Here's a 67 Tbird, now I don't know if the back has the chrome or not there wasn't a picture of the back, but the trim looks very similar as I said I am not sure, but they do look like 67 TBird. Now I am sure just like GM a lot of other Ford cars used the same shell.

  17. Thanks for all the suggestions. I did more research and found a set of Galaxie seats with the same frame and hardware so I do believe these to be Ford. Thanks Ken

  18. there should be a metal tag attached underneath - when I sold FOMOCO seats - they are always wanting to know if it's there....should be a year code etc.....
