Enginesetback? 25" to crank centerline. 498 cuin Mopar stroker/720HP on gas,
Now adding twin toilets and metanol!

Here's my present build. Just drove it Monday for the first time since purchasing the stock '63 Falcon in March. Whirlwind build, and lots of little things to still do, but at least it's driveable now!
1963 Falcon Futura with 464 BBC, Edelbrock heads, Super T10 four speed, 8.8" Ford rear, ET mags, 10" Hurst slicks.

i am currently working on getting the 4-71 supercharger installed

Thanks! Brought back some good memories of my childhood. Quain put it in just the right perspective. The Gassers and Fuel Altereds were my favorite cars back then, in part becuse of the wheelstands and "all over the track" handling. Always a great show.

 

Exactly! I grew up in the 50's and as a young teen in the 60's it was exciting to see those cars make runs. The fact they didn't go perfectly straight, and tended to stand up on the rear bumper just made them more appealing!

 

Looking through this thread, I realized that I never posted a picture of my gasser-inspired '56 Plymouth after it was "finished". 440/TF727, six-point cage, homebuilt fenderwell headers, tube bumpers, radiused wheelwells with 10" US slots on the back, ET five-spokes on the front. I drove it the 700 miles to Joplin for the HAMB Drags, had a freakin' blast! The car is now in the Netherlands.

I've had my Gasser style '63 Catalina on here in its build stages. Well I'm still building it. This is the last and final engine configuration. With the finished but not started engine all in place. I'm a turbocharger nut so I had to incorporate that into this build so it is not even close to traditional. But much of the chassis and body mods are older style Gasser like. 1960 389 punched .090 to 406. KRE D-Port aluminum 320 cfm heads. Solid roller turbo cam. Ross dished pistons on GRP aluminium rods, forged Ohio 3.75 crank. Wenzler Gutsram Tunnel Ram with twin blow thru E85 750s, twin 76MM Turbonetics ball bearing tuebos blowing thru twin intercoolers.
Ford GM spec (Dearborn) top loader 3 speed, ladder bar rear suspension, Ford 9 inch detriot locker 35 spine axle 3:50 geared rear end. '57 Chevy pickup front beam axle on custom front frame clip.
Engine moved back 11 inches and firewall cut and reformed around that.
Engine compartment.


Towed it to a local cruise last October, full car pic.



This is my concept to fit my needs and wants. Nowhere traditional but with traditional flavor. Hope to start it up soon. Just needs wiring run, fuel system finalized, and coolant lines run from trunk mounted radiator to the front.

My Austin gasser has been sick with a bad engine. Almost finished installing the replacement I've built for it. Just waiting on a pair of vintage Mr Gasket finned valve covers to arrive, and plumbing to the twin 600cfm Holleys.


Had to work up a little bracket after changing from tunnel ram to cross ram so the Hilborn scoop would still supply fresh air to the carbs.
