Features 41-48 Ford and Merc Picture Thread!

Discussion in 'Traditional Customs' started by nitrobrother, May 1, 2013.

  1. I bought the car already chopped nitro.. I can tell you that there is about 10" of windshield height left after the chop.. There are a couple of pics of the work in progress as performed by Barry Mazza and fellow club members on Rik Hoving's terrific custom archive site: http://public.fotki.com/Rikster/11_car_photos/beautiful_custom_cars/barry_mazza_custom/ Check the folder of Barry's photo collection.

BcometFx - I'm digging the chop that's going on there! Nice work.

The car that inspired my love for '47-'48 Fords (even though it's usually a '46!). Such a great-looking car.

In the three pictures you have three different types of hub-caps on this nice car. Half Moons with rings, Cadillac, and Full Moons. Nice nosing job too.

Here is my 48....Great car, even my wife drives it. Run 2 different sets of wheels on it, one more HAMB friendly than the other. Want to make some changes on the car but it's hard to tear down a car that gets driven often

  20. Sharp period look - suspect it was powered by a flathead Ford - other cool engine is the Caddy.

That was the car that started my affair with fat fender Fords.. I still have the magazine, somewhere.
Since the sixties I have had a total of eight 41,42, 46-48 Fords and Mercs. Still have three 46-48 Ford business coupes.. Waiting in line for next project:D

  22. I'm not affiliated with these guys at all, but it does look like a nice build, flathead and all!

  23. Still hunting for color photos of it! Really want to see that "vibrant Tangerine orange..."

  29. I like this car. This was in one of the Dan Post books.
