Bought a very nice original front clip from threewindaguy this weekend. My plan is to have my coupe running for the 40th Unique Tin show ,in Longview, next year and the Billetproof drags...I'm on my way!!!

be sure and do***ent how you repair those rear wheel wells for us dreamers, i'm at that stage with my 40 ford coupe and would love to see how you get past this. 36's are sure easy to look at!

    Wonderful job resurrecting that one.

I am dreading (and thus putting off) the same process on my '36 flatback.

Happily mine is not quite so far gone as yours was, but it will likely be quite the project.

Glad to see guys going to such lengths to save these model years, seems the 36's and 37's are starting to draw quite the following.

I'm interested in your fender conversion as well, that could open up a supply of 5 window fenders. Are the differences subtle like the 35 to 36 or is the contour all wrong ?

I just got a decent coupe fender and I have a perfect sedan fender, ill be doing the conversion soon. My plan is to make fullsize bucks with hole locations. There are more differences than width, these will come to light with a proper pattern to compare. Im stoked your build is back on jim...

For what its worth, my understanding is 3 and 5 window coupe, roadster, and cabriolet use the same rear fenders. Sedan fenders are narrow compared to a coupe family rear fenders. Seems they trimmed the mounting section back to clear the wider wedge shape rear on a sedan. I have also noticed the peak is not as well defined on a sedan fender...but they are what I have and I am making them work. The rear fender in picture above was/is a sedan fender.

I am looking forward to learning what you find. I know they can be made to work. A-holes want way too much for mediocre parts. Take care dude!

Somehow missed this thread entirely. Caught up now though and subscribed. Great work.
These 36s look good as both customs or rods. Just plain cool either way.

Wow! That is better than what I have started with! The dent in the roof above the 1/4 window on the black on reminds me of damage that was on Nate's coupe. Nice score!
