That's a great photo of your Mom Don,,what kinda car is she seated in? Who is the lad in the background? HRP
Don, looks like you came by that hot-rod gene honestly.....................Good eye on those hairpins as well HRP.
Yes...please tell the name of the movie. And no kiddin' on the hairpins! The picture, the car and the young lady are awesome. Don, the pic of your mom is even awesome-er.
What an interesting photo. Looks like it has Buffalo wheels, chrome dash, tubing going to the gas tank top for a pressure pump. Those hair pins have a ball on the end like they were made from a stock T wish bone, then squeezed down. Don't know what steering wheel that is, but it's real nice. Don, thats a great photo of your Mom. Looks like Buffalo wheels also. Thanks too both of you for sharing. Rich
that gal is positioned just so we cannot determine the power plant. Good thing she has a nice-looking tush.
What year body do you think that is(the car body) ??? Looks like a belly pan.... Or maybe canvas for the movie, not sure.
Jeez 32's pretty early for anything aftermarket. I always heard roundy round guys would take saw blades and cut the blades off (obviously) and then cut a bell style shape and then weld a hoop to it. This was the first safety race wheel so if you wrecked the steering wheel would bend as opposed to wood splintering and being impaled by the steering wheel. JohnnyA I know you're trying to make a statement about modern culture but this is a still from a movie. Since when do you go to the theater and think "man, Jennifer Anniston is getting so heavy!" Starlets have always been thin regardless of the food eatin in this country. Just sayin...
I bet that car was a blast to drive. What do you think it weighs? 1000 to 1300? Don awesome pic of your mom.
The body appears to be a 23-25 T Roadster with a windshield chopped through the lower fixed frame just below the knob in the post. The car has a hood, just visible between the girl's skirt and the cowl, so IDing the engine would not be possible even it she wasn't there.
Thanks HRP, I don't recall that guy in the background, Mom had printed on the back of the pix "The Bug". Here's a pix of her in my '32 roadster in 1970.
Just found it on Youtube. Looks like a pretty interesting movie so I'll be watching the full thing later. The car has a full CHROME hood and sides with long louvers (Stock T?) and what appears to be a chromed V8 60 front axle. Figure that one out! (The movie was released in 32!!!) This is one of those cars that really needs to be identified and examined!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7lre0ELfsIU&feature=youtu.be
Thanx for the link... I'll try to see it later also. First peek was amazing, the quality of the film / video transfer was fantastic. And I liked the car, too. Gary
did not watch the whole movie - listening to Cruisin' Talk Radio out of Sacramento and watching racing on TV, with sound down. did not listen to dialogue in movie HOT SATURDAY starring Carry Grant, etc. about 12 minutes in the roadster shows up - has full hood, very unique. plus, other cool cars.
Bitchin' little modified! Doesn't get any more period correct than that. Got to love actors and their blatant disregard - like the scene where the actress flings the door open and it slams into that pretty chromed hood. DOH! Sadly, that little rod was probably considered a "throw away" by the movie studio.
