I'm with Todd on this one. It's not going to happen, tryin' to make 2014 is going to be hard enough. I'm good but, not that good.

 

I think you can do it, look at the time machines you've already built!

Here's the 1/4 garnish with the doors. I swung by the platers to get the 1/4's. I think I have to drill one more mounting hole in them. I was glad to see them pretty far along.

I was told that Monday is probably going to be the day to finish these up. They are going to need some "magic" (muggyweld) solder in some places. Oh boy.

 

Sheoot, Jer, you've managed to turn the clock back twice now nearly seven decades, once with Juinor's car, and now again, with Jesse's! One canender year to GNRS 2013 you should be able to do before breakfest

It's time to get the appletons installed. I need to look at all the angles to get it right. The first step is to position and install the bracket after it's shaped to fit the A pillar.

 

I have the factory pattern for where the Appleton goes Jer. And Im sure Jesse would have used a pattern if he bought a brand new spotlight light. Let me know if you need it!

 

Jer, your progress and craftsmanship are amazing! Everything looks fantastic. I do have one question tho, why did you strip the paint job back to the primer coat to install the Appletons?

 

It's the principle of the thing.

 

If you go back a page or two you can see the car in color and the hole for the spotlight is clearly visible. The thing to remember is that not everything is posted in the correct sequences. I think that jer started to work on the spotlight mount before the car was in color and still in primer and is just now showing what he did.

Torchie was referring to the question about stripping the finished paint to install the appletons and was merely stating that the paint wasn't stripped just the pictures were not posted in sequential order.

Hey guy's, I was just yankin Jer's chain, he's used to my making sure his principals are upheld!

 

I do want to say seriously that the time, research and craftsmanship you have put into this project is amazing. This is my favorite thread on the H.A.M.B.

I have been watching this whole build with interest... as myself right now is doing a 40's coupe.
My oh my, lots of thought going into every little detail , the 41 that Rodsandcustomdreams owns, me and a couple of Knights wacked that coupe... I recall 6 1/2 inches at the post. The owner wanted the roof to look like the Barris Rackohn Coupe".
We had it out of my drive way [as you see the pics] in about 5 hrs. Not too much thinking, just cut and weld.
One thing I love is old 40's style sleds, can't wait to see it done and it gives me inspiration to do 1 more in spite of being over the hill.
Very nice craftsmenship. Wonderfull car, what can I say?
