These are the '56 Olds lenses in '53 Ford bezels on my '52 I was talking about. Not the best pic but you can see what they look like. It's a bolt-in swap if your quarters hadn't already been modified, but at this point, you could do anything. The '54 Olds ones above look very nice as well.

I couldn't agree more, Dave. It might be worth searching the auction site
    for 1954 Olds parts.

I heard the rule of thumb is, 5 years earlier or 5 years later, within reason. But it's your car. This is my '54 Dodge with '59 Caddy tail lites.

Would any of you guys be prepared to receive and then re-ship these out to me in Australia. If so, please private message me? (I'd be super grateful)

    Cheers,
    Dave

I love this 52 Victoria (Gary Frye's - I hope he doesn't mind me posting the pics of his awesome car), so I have decided this is the direction I am heading.

(He even looks to be running the overlay fender skirts Rik Hoving put me onto through KCP.)

Does anyone know what are these taillights and where I can buy them?

    Dave

Hard to tell from your picture exactly which lights those are but I would bet on 56 Oldsmobile - probably 88 as the 98 has a distinct indentation and the 88 was more subtle.
Here is a link to an aftermarket company that makes Oldsmobile lenses and ships internationally. Their site has pictures of each lens too. http://www.fusickautomotiveproducts.com/products.asp?dept=53
I have not dealt with them so I cannot say if they are a decent company or not.
Here is the 56 Olds 88 lens from their site

That's definitely what they are, '56 Olds 88 lenses, same as the ones in my car but on the one above they're frenched in. Those were a popular swap even back in the 50's for these cars, very much period-correct.

Nope, the Pontiac ones are quite a bit smaller. If you're going to french them in, all you really need are the Olds lenses. If you want a chrome bezel like mine, you want 53 or 54 Ford car bezels. The '53 ones are smooth where as the '54 ones have indentations along the side, that's why I went with the '53 bezels. They're not reproduced, but if you watch eBay, good ones come along every so often and they're not that expensive.

Also, there will be a bit of a gap around the outside of the Olds lens in the '53-54 bezels, some guys will cut down a stock 53 Ford lens to take up the gap, but for me, I just put the Olds lenses in the Ford rings, I didn't mind the open space.

    Thanks Squablow.

    Like these 54s on eBay?

Or these 53s, which seem to be reproductions?

    And Olds 54 88 lenses:

And I intend on doing this:

    This is my heap.

Tunneled about 7". Caddy lights are a little played out, but I was knocking off my dad's tail light treatment. I think the olds lights pull the line of the car a little better, but I was also shooting for a jet engine kind of look, without being too gauche.

That should look real nice. You will need some 53-54 Ford lenses to mount those Olds lenses onto, that's how the look was achieved in your last picture. You'll probably want to cut the center of the 53-54 lenses out as well, to give the lights a little more brightness.

    Hey Squablow.

I have ordered repro 53 tail-light ***emblies and repro 53-54 Ford lenses from C& G Ford Parts (http://cgfordparts.com/ufolder/cgcat...t=B3AZ-13434-A) and the repro 54 (88) Olds lens from Fusick Automotives (http://www.fusickautomotiveproducts....ts.asp?dept=53).

    I appreciate your help.

That looks great Custom_Crestline. I will save that picture of your car to model my alterations on, because I will need to rework that whole section at the back of my car.

I have purchased both of these RR and LR tail-light quarter panels off a 53 Ford, so now I'm good to go:
