I have a 52 Ford Customline that is currently missing a grill. I am looking for a cool "teeth style" grill to try and install to give it that Desoto like look (although any grill will do) and am trying to get some input on what fits and what doesn't. Any input is appreciated.

  3. Send the guy a message and ask him to measure the length,,It will fit but you will probably have to do some modifications. HRP

The Corvette grilles are pretty narrow for a '52 Ford. I have a tube grille in mine but I'm planning to swap it out for a '55 Ford center bar. My '53 has a 51-52 DeSoto grille in it, looks nice, and I've seen 55-56 Plymouth grille bars and '54 Chevy grille bars swapped in and all looked very nice and fit well in a '52 Ford.

If you're on a tight budget, consider adding two extra teeth to a 51-52 Plymouth grille bar, that would give a Desoto-look and they're really cheap to buy compared to the more popular ones.

These are a good look and not overdone. Good suggestion.

I like the options. What about a 55 customline? Like the grate style with the two lights on the side?

Yea that 55 looks cool. Would that fit in my 52's grill cavity?

I've found a few used grills but no side grill lights to match the 55

For a custom look you might stop by a large truck stop and instead of the stockers check out some of round universal lights and many are now LED.

The barrels and buckets do show up on eBay from time to time. The lenses are available repop.

The '55 parking light housings have a tendancy to fill up with dirt and rot out, so it takes a while to hunt down a nice useable pair, but they come up every so often and aren't too terribly expensive. The example above is very pretty, I believe it is a '54 and uses the '55 grille surround trim.

This is the current setup in my '52, but my plan is to swap out the tube section for a '55 grille bar. I'm going to keep my current parking lights and just trim the ends of the '55 bar off to fit inside the grille cavity.

That looks pretty cool. Where did you find that or is it custom?
