Yay! - an Avro Monocar. I have a soft spot for those.

 

There was that 3/4 scale fiberglass '32 roadster body available. I thought it would make a great monocar body with about 2' taken out of the middle. It would be a hot rod, bike and cyclecar all in one.

 

Here are King Leopold of Belgium and Ettore Bugatti riding in a Red Bug.King Leopold was a loyal Bugatti customer. Shown also is a Bugatti Leopold owned at one time.It has not been restored.It was recommissioned after a long storage.

The king Leopold Bugatti currently resides at Ivan Dutton bugatti workshop a few miles from my house I saw it about 6 months ago , it's stunning , Tim Dutton looks after some great cars up there ,

Thanks for the link to locostusa and for showing your project here. Great effort and a handsome trike. Curiously, this thread on the HAMB is mostly about pure vintage cyclecars and seems to discount efforts of more-current non-credentialed builds. Strange for a board that is mostly about hot-rodded contrivances.

I've had a Morgan-like reverse trike underway for better than a dozen years, beginning with sketches and continuing on into serious design and hardware collection. All the major hardware is on hand and I'm just waiting for a vacant frame table in the shop to begin mockup. I've registered with locostusa and will soon start a build thread there where interest is certain to be high.

av8,I don't think that your comments are entirely true regarding this thread and would have to take exception to them.The traditional cyclecar is just the flow the stream has taken.There are a few readers who take issue with certain vehicles not being within the bounds of the strictest of definitions of a cyclecar.Yet most of us don't say a word when the boundaries are broached and fences breached.

I asked Ryan when he was housecleaning awhile back if this thread would be one that would be eliminated.He said "No,as long as it remains traditional".As far as I know,we have had not had any moderator warnings, posts removed ,or the thread locked because of content.

All my deapest respect for Ade's work on the Jappic. A great challenge and a fabulous finish to all the jobs Ade did so far.
What is this huge engine standing behind King Leopold's Bugatti between the GN chassis and the other type 40? Bugatti ?
Here is a picture op my little Talbot's dashboard and current engine bay. Might get the car running for its first time for decades between Christmas and the New Year.

 

I just got through reading "Motor Wheels and Flyers" by Tom Bartlett. It's mainly about wheel motors and motorized bicycles but he does talk about original and replica cyclecars too. I think I've seen pictures of the cover car here before but I don't recall anything about the book.

I've admired this car for a while now, but had only seen one or two shots of it from a distance. These shots are just great. I love the lines, proportions and color scheme of this car. The motor shot is icing on the cake. Thanks bob!

Tried to find more images of the car I inquired about from the video using the search term Rovin, but struck out. The car's rear end shape intrigued me because it looked a lot like the rear of a Austin 10-4 body, which incorporates a rumble/dicky rear seat. I was really curious to see how the front body design/shape flowed into back.

Man, I totally dig the headlamp housing bodywork on that Leopold Bugatti!

Looking good bobadame. I'm working on the design of my cowl structure, so it is neat to see how you handled yours. I see you went with square tube. I'm still tring to decide on flat, round or square material!
