The Corvair in post 84555 has factory knock wire wheels. They used 2 bar knockoffs and were star drive.

It would be nice to know which railroad this lunch car originated from in Manhatten, Kansas in the 1920's or 30's.

One last photo from the Manhattan, Kansas area. All photos come from the Kansas Historical Society.

This black and white photograph shows a view of a rail road sign for Zeandale, Kansas. The town founded in 1855 was located in Riley County eight miles east of Manhattan, Kansas, in the Deep Creek Valley area and along the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railroad. The name Zeandale is a combination of the Greek word "Zea" meaning corn and the English word "dale". Together, they mean corn-dale or corn valley. The town's name suggested by one of it's early settlers Josiah H. Pillsbury, was a reflection of the rich soil and bumper crops grown in the area.

My mistake. I was thinking mk6 and I put T70. This is why I shouldn't post late at night! Here's a couple pics of the Mk6.

That Midway Diner really hits home for me.

I remember another Midway Diner that looked just like the picture with the sliding doors that was located in Stamford, Ct. back in the late 50's and early 60's and me and the other guys would ride our bikes over there and for .15 cents you could buy a sloppy joe on a grinder roll.

As a kid that was as good as it got in those days.

Looks like the old Union Pacific depot at the south end of Capitol Avenue in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Now the Cheyenne Depot Museum.
