For the last couple of years, my '38 Ford coupe has been slowly going through a transformation while resting in the Northern California work shop that my brother, Keith Tardel, has called home almost all of his life. To be honest, it's been a bit pai...

To read the rest of this blog entry from The Jalopy Journal, click here.
"Edit/update: oh I see it's goin' to YOUR shop. THAT is THE best thing!!!! There may be empty beer cans involved after all" It would be nice if you could work on it at the HAMB headquarters building. Have 'the guys' come by, thrashin' in evening. You could gander at it while at the keyboard during the day, be inspired to write 'the good stuff'. But....then there would the empty beer cans sittin' on everything, empty pizza boxes, half eatin' tex-mex. AND, the slacker that laid outta work, thought he would come by, hang out, work on the hot rod, that would be nice. I'm sure the missed deadlines would pile up, scratch that. Better stick with the *** plan, I'm sure you'll enjoy havin' the hot rod back close to home. Keith to ***.... that's a leap of faith! Hope things work out great.
This car was a Sweet ride the way it was,but is going to be really Kool when done.Congrats to Keith coming to Austin, anxious to see more builds from A.S.S
Im stoked that you have finally rid your sweet coupe of that evil street rod front suspension,,now you can post in the traditional hot rod forum with your head healed high! As far as a car being near & dear to your heart I completely understand where your coming from. The '54 Ranch Wagon I finished last year has been a part of the family since it was new,the car belonged to my wife's grandmother,,Brenda learned how to drive in that car,When I was in a band we hauled equipment in that car,we dated,we brought our twin girls home from the hospital, drove it daily until it finally died. It sat in the barn for close to 20 years and I worked on the car for 9 years bring it back from the dead... This isn't the coolest car or better than any other car,,but the family history is something that is rare..and means a lot! HRP
Great news X2: Your '38 being within wrenchin' distance AND your brother Keith moving to town! Bad News X2 for me: Keith is moving away from my area AND you'll have even less of a reason to come see me now!
Damn that thing is looking good. Congrats on bringing your baby home. I'm excited to see what the speed shop crew turns out with Tardel on board.
Man Tardel is gonna be working with the speed shop? My jaw dropped when I heard that for some reason. That is going to be AWESOME. Ryan, what is the scoop (pun intended) on the hood? Last I heard you were thinking of adding a scoop to gain a few inches of clearance? I saw on IG that you guys must have figured something else out... Spill it bro.
