History Short and Sweet

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder (or is it beer holder), but having said that, I think the car's kinda "cute" & charming but it reminds me of a clown car. I think the proportions would look way better if it was stretched out. (I'm not criticizing, just throwing in my $.02).

 

I love it!! I know a short wheelbase can be tough to handle.
But what a fun ride for around town. And it will always stand out in the crowd.

 

I really like this little car. If I wasnt 6'3"....

 

It's no better or worse than a T-bucket.

 

I rarely ever criticize a feature car on here,but I'll break ranks.That car is just too damn short(and this comes from a guy who is 5'6")It's missing it's backside.Just 'cuz the guy has talent doesn't make it a masterpiece.

 

Clown car. Really nicely put together, but clown car nonetheless. Swap the frame and put a bed on it and it would be killer.

 

Reminds me of the Frontenac Powered RPU on HRM. Goofy but kinda awesome....

In 1954, this was cutting edge, I suppose, different. But cl***ic proportions to withstand the ages? Nah!

 

It's a little "stubby" compared to mine......

 

Also, I aint buying that "conveniently" less than 1500 lbs story.

Mine weighs 1900 lbs, and they're almost identical, other than the wheelbase.

after seeing the same stubby car being built here using a 1946 Ford truck cab that one does not look so bad.

 

Doesn't really look to much diffferent...

 

I think where yours works better is in the wheelbase, especially- You left the rear wheels further out back and that prevented the 'crowding' we see with the feature car.

 

I like them both, but if you combined the front axle placement of the feature car, and the rear axle placement of your car, it would be an improvement over both of them in my opinion.

 

Where's the rest of it?

 

Never liked saying a car is cute, But, oh well whatever, bring on the clowns !

 

Mine is right in between.

I think if the car above was lowered a tad it wouldn't make it look as short. I like the general look and the larger tires out front are growing on me.

 

Tweedy Pie was as short as roadsters get and still look nice in my opinion. This one reminds me of a doodlebug farm tractor. Put a 3' box on it and push the rear axle back to match, then I'm on board.

I had ***umed that Roth built Tweedy Pie out of the OP roadster.

 

My thoughts exactly.

 

I'm not feeling it. I think it's just over the line on the clown side.

 

Needs to move the engine or front suspension forward.
