Sounds like a great project. Are you sure those shocks will work upside down? If they are Rancho 9000s from Calvert they are oil filled. Not sure if that will work.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Not from Calvert, but the are 9000's upside down. Think I will get Calvert spring plates, that allow for proper mounting.
Mounted 9000's upside doen for years, on different off road projects, without issues.
It's been a long project, but I will stick with it!

(I must learn to slow down when posting)
I like your Bronco, SOHC!! I have a 68 myself!!
I'm the third owner of my 68. It has been primarily a off road rig since 1972 it tackled the Rubicon and all the other Sierra Trails countless times before I bought it.
It still wears the original paint and you can imagine, the body is not exactly straight.
Original 289 finally expired and a rebuild is on my to do list!

I've posted pics of this before in a seperate thread. A friend of mine in Madison, IN has been going thru this 63 mechanically and making it run and look like a SOHC car should. He completely went thru the motor a year or two ago and has just been fine tuning it since.
This link to a youtube video that somebody posted several months ago is how it sounds with just headers. It seemed a shame to put a full exhaust system on it.

I just saw a post showing the AA/S '64 Galaxy of Bob Spears. Very successful car out west in the 1965-66 seasons. My dad's AA/SA '63 Plymouth was winning its share of races in that era too, but never could quite get around Spears Ford and the handicap given to the stick car (though my dad beat Mike Schmidt's factory sponsored AA/SA at least six times in those two seasons and never lost). In 1967 Spears switched to a SS/CA '66 Fairlane and the tables turned a couple of times. Before the years was done Spears had installed a four speed in his Fairlane and ran SS/C from there on. The photo here is from the 1966 Winternationals event program, and shows the final round of Top Stock at the Winternationals Warmup event held at Pomona a few weeks prior.
