The original wiper motor and assembly was a good one and a repair / replacement may be easier - they were pretty good in the first place. While they do wear I have never replaced a motor on one of those - fixed worn pivot points etc and seals and then they just keep on going. There are a couple of guys on here that are wrecking/parting these years out so see if you can get a complete assembly and change it all over. May save you time and hassles and allow you to concentrate on other areas of updating

There are many tires that will fit, but what type do you think you want?
Are you staying with the stock rim? Are yours welded or riveted?
    Bias-ply or radial?

Look for the modern designation/conversion from the old style designations, or look @ Cokers. Do an Intro before the Forum Police get ya!:)

Most people upgrade because their motor is vacuum. Since these are electric they work fine. I've had my car since 1989 and never had a wiper issue.
Never even gave it a thought.

I'm thinking you need to look for 670x15 tires.

Hello, new guy here and I figure this would be the appropriate place to post pics of the 56 Plaza I just picked up.
Nice original survivor, V8 with a three on the tree with overdrive!

A V8 in a Plaza makes that a very rare '56. Nice find!

I found this beauty at last weekends Mooneyes X-Mass party covered in rain. I didn't see who the owner was, it was raining for most of the show. 1955 Plymouth Plaza.

I bought a 56 Chevy from a man near Paris, Texas who then gave me a 55 Ford 4dr and two round body (47-54) Chev PU's to haul off. The only thing left is a 55 Plymouth convertible, complete, VERY rough, with a 4dr parts car, patch panels from other cars, and another frame to replace the rusted away original frame. The replacement would have to be converted to a convertible frame. A MAJOR PROJECT not for dreamers but it could be saved. I'm not a Chrysler person but hate to see any brand wasted.

I subscribed to this thread about a year and a half ago just because I love these cars and I enjoyed seeing everyone post pictures of theirs...

Now, I have my own. I just bought a '55 Coronet 2 door hardtop from a fellow HAMB'er. It's an extremely solid, all original car with only one, nickel-sized spot of rust over the right rear wheelwell lip. It is complete and it's a running, driving car. It has it's original 270 poly engine and Powerflite transmission. The car will be leaving California via transporter and will be delivered to me up here in Oregon soon. Plans include some wide whites, Lancer caps, 2"-3" drop, dual exhaust and new interior. I will clean up the original paint for now. I may or may not end up painting it someday. I'm really excited to get started.

  22. I asked Marcus (on line) to sell me just the steering wheel but he said I had to buy the whole car. :D Good luck with it. I still need the wide whites and lowering on mine, but I haven't gotten that far yet.
